For more than a decade, heavy metal outfit Skeletonwitch has lived up to its ominous name with bone-crushing live shows that shake fans to the core. Whether these veteran thrashers are barreling through "Beneath Dead Leaves" or invoking fire and brimstone with "I Am of Death (Hell Has Arrived)", they always deliver their sets with decibel-shattering ferocity. With a skull and crossbones banner flying over these five long-haired band mates as they headbang their brains out, Skeletonwitch's spectacular live shows always leave ticket buyers feeling thoroughly rocked.
Skeletonwitch was formed in 2003 by guitarists Scott Hedrick and Nate Garnette while they were studying at Ohio University. After enlisting Garnette's older brother Chance as their lead vocalist, the band released their 2004 debut album At One with the Shadows. Their hard-hitting sound and even heavier live performances on tour landed them a deal with Prosthetic Records, and in 2007 the label released the band's sophomore album Beyond the Permafrost. The album was a critical success, and before long Skeletonwitch was touring with Danzig, flooring fans as a featured act at Ozzfest, and appearing on video games like Rock Band. The band has supported each of their five albums with extensive touring, and they remain a live favorite for their thrash-heavy, no-holds-barred performances on the road.
