I took my 10 year old granddaughter to this event not sure if she would be interested. It captivated her attention, loved it and said she wanted to come again next year. We'll see if she still wants to being almost a teenager!!

Singing Tree for Kids was inspiring!

by PowderedSugar on 12/16/14Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The puppeteers and music was fun and enjoyable- even for two people who had no children in the event or in the audience. It was fun to catch the spirit of the event! Make all the puppets as big as the hippopotamus- hard to see the little dog and other guy in the upper seats

    Singing Christmas Tree for Kids

by LKNGrandma on 12/16/14Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

This was the most enjoyable event. We took two children, ages 4 and 8 and they both had a wonderful time. They danced in their seats, sang along with the Christmas songs and thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the show. I would absolutely recommend this event to anyone with children.

    Singing Christmas Tree

by CurtisO on 12/16/14Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Overall the performance was great and is a wonderful tradition. I understand that it was the 60th anniversary, but the second half was too produced....The number A Baby Changes Everything was the worst of the night. The music was "over shadowed" by a really bad shadow puppet performance by Grey Seal Puppets. Most of that looked like something out of Rosemary's Baby and from where our seats were, mostly all we could see was the flashlight from behind the scrim. It really didn't work and it took away from the song. Overall the choreography was kind of repetitive and The First Noel did not need the interpretive dance. And while the music of The Little Drummer Boy was beautiful, it was really overdone. I did not like the dancers dressed in their "Caribbean" style costumes, with the lead singer in a three piece suit. It felt like we were at Joel Olsteen's Stadium church. In my opinion, that is a song of humility. But this is just my opinion....Thank you for allowing me to provide it.
