CRAZIEST/BEST CONCERT I HAVE EVER BEEN TOO!!! Was too bad Cecil Otter wasn't healthy enough to perform though, but having the rest of the Doomtree crew there to perform some of there new songs from the up coming album was totally awesome! It was also cool that it was also PaperTiger's birthday that day.

    Made for an interesting night.

I really wanted to see Sims and Cecil Otter. I bought the tickets really early and we arrived at the venue an hour after doors opened, thinking the music would start then like it was posted. We waited around and it wasn't until 10:15 that music started, with a group that wan't on the set. We watched their performance and when it ended we waited around for another twenty minutes or so then left. We weren't going to wait around for artists who didn't appreciate their fans.

It was just an amazing show. Between Sims and the rest and of the Doomtree family there was nothing I would have rather seen.

Show was really good, but a little overcrowded.

by Ducks2000 on 2/21/11Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

The show was really good and an intimate venue. A great variety of artist and a great D.J. and sound production. My only complaint would be what sold out means because it really seemed over crowded. Shorter people like my wife really had a tough time seeing the show and I noticed she was the only one.

    Release Party Success

by FlipFlopLumberJack on 2/21/11Fine Line Music Cafe - Minneapolis

In regular fashion, the Doomtree crew did not disappoint with the release party/show for Sims' new cd Bad Time Zoo. All the regular cast was present, with Mike Mictlan taking the reins to open the show. His high energy set went through a mixture of previous releases and new songs. This theme continued through most of the night with most of the crew doing the same in their sets. Cecil Otter followed with his mainstay of a slightly more laid back but cerebrally powerful set. Dessa followed with set that could almost be described as an acoustic feel with some reworked but successful versions of her previous releases peppered with new songs as well. POS was next up and as he usually does, ramped up the energy before SIMS took the stage. Also performing new and old songs, it was certainly hard not to get caught up in the moment. Sims aptly took stage last and did not disappoint. Performing many songs off his cd released earlier in the week, SIMS and the crowd got into the performance played well off each other through the newly released and older material. At the end of the show, the whole Doomtree Crew took the stage and performed a few "group" mainstays including an encore. After the show, SIMS showed the appreciation to the fans, as Doomtree normally does, and was available for autographs/meet and greets. Overall, it was a great show for seasoned fans of Sims and Doomtree both, while the interaction and energy would be as easily acceptable to those new to the music or just fans of independant Hip-Hop. Great show from beginning to end.
