    Offended

by truefan85 on 8/29/12The Bell House - Brooklyn

An interesting idea that comes off like it was hatched yesterday. Needs way more work to become a good show. The only thing carrying this show was the projected image of a twin peaks episode. But even then, once the captions became completely unreadable due to poor positioning on the screen and a crowded room, this show was utterly boring. The singer cannot sing and the reverb does not hide this. The beats/mixes whatnot are a good start, but they rarely related to the images. So many possibilities for quick, witty visual/musical ques were missed that I was literally offended. At 20 minutes in, I realized they were just riffing off of my love for twin peaks, not improving upon/commenting on/enhancing the experience whatsoever. A revised soundtrack this was not. It was essentially an A/V version of bad karaoke where you don't have the lyric-less tracks, so you sing over a quieter version of the song.
