    Incredible

by Rhiannon on 4/7/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

My 12-year-old daughter and I saw the show and it was INCREDIBLE! We laughed and sang the entire time. The costumes were adorable and the cast was phenomenal. 10/10 recommend.

Great acting, music, voices, awful sets/costumes

by Dale B on 4/7/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

Just as many others have reported, this show is good and succeeds only because of the quality of actors and the band. The sets and costumes are high-school level and a massive disappointment.

Small show in a Large auditorium

by Daisy on 4/6/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

Performers were good but venue too large--left at intermission!

    No good

by Jeevescool on 4/6/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

It felt like something a high school production would have put on. The cast had AMAZING voices but everything else with the play wasn’t great. Shrek doesn’t have hair, in this production he has hair. It was just a super let down.

    Good show

by Gray on 4/5/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

It was a fun show and the cast did well! The reason for 4 stars could be more venue related. There was a delay opening the doors and the show started about 20 minutes late. Overall, glad we went!

    Could be better

by DWARNERB on 4/5/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

The actors were quite good with strong voices. But the staging was very amateurish. Looking at some other traveling productions on YouTube, the donkey costume was especially poor.

    Disappointed!

by Travel on 4/5/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

Cast and crew were great , but costumes, stage appearances were not worth what they charged for tickets. Local theater groups or high schools have higher standards for their appearance and stage props. Wearing hats that can be purchased a local store to try and meet the appearance of the characters added low quality to the show.

    Best Bday Present Ever!

by Sarah J on 4/5/24Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium - Chattanooga

We bought tickets for my sister’s 13th birthday. She knows every word to this musical. She had a blast! The cast was amazing. The actor who played Shrek almost had me in tears with his facial expressions. He sure can project his emotions. Plus Fiona killed it with her vocals. We were also a fan of Donkey. She sure has range! Absolutely worth every penny.

    Disappointed

    by Brooke on 4/3/24

Although the actors and orchestra was incredible, this adaptation was terrible! If I wanted to see a community theatre production of Shrek, I would've gone to my local high school. Do not pay these professional prices for this terrible production. They cut a lot of the songs and the jokes. The set and costumes were terrible along with this whole adaptation. Do not waste your money.

    Disappointing

by BabyBear on 4/2/24The Louisville Palace - Louisville

We performed Shrek the Musical in high school and it was such a fun show. I’ve listened to the soundtrack for years and watched the recording of the show several times when they had it on Netflix. This show was disappointing. So many changes to the original. Entire storylines left out (Lord Farquad’s backstory being Grumpy is his dad), songs left out, and the weird puppets used in place of kid Shrek, mom and dad Shrek, and the younger Fiona’s. I know it’s today is one of the most iconic scenes from the show and it was ruined by using weird puppets. Not to mention there were hardly any set pieces. Where was the castle walls shown in the backgrounds of the images posted on the website?? I feel the site was very misleading for what the show was. The only ready I’m giving 3 stars is the two people I brought with me had not seen the original and had no idea what they were missing so still enjoyed it. Was it an absolutely terrible show? No. But for anyone who knows what it was supposed to be, it’s going to be disappointing.
