My wife and I hit the jack pot when we showed up for our tour. We were the only ones that showed up for that time slot . We had our own private tour, it was awesome. The biology lab and surgery room info was very informative. All in all a great day.
I missed Shedd Aquarium in my previous visit in April 2012. Now, I planned in advance and combined business and leasure. I bought the ticket in advance and entering was very fluent. I very much enjoyed the 'Behind the scenes' tour. The guide was excellent. He took into account the chinese visitors by speaking out very slowly. Very well shown different types of species and ecosysyems.
We were the only two people on the your and received a personalized show. It was amazing to see all the effort that goes on behind the scenes. Our your guide showed us a different side of animal care.
I was a little disappointed with the behind the scene tour. Fist off they tell you to be there at 2:30 pm but the tour really doesn't start until 3:00 pm. I felt deceived and that my time was not important. We had two women giving us the guided tour. They were rather knowledgeable but I got a little tired of hearing "that's a great question let me check or I'm not sure" . We did not get to touch anything and were told NOT to . The tour was also to short for the price paid.
The tour wasn't very indepth. Some of the questions I had they didn't know the answers to.
Tour was worth the money. Not recommend for young children but a different view of the inner workings of the aquarium.
Excellent knowledgeable guides made every moment interesting. Great for a 12 year old and older. A perfect way to fully appreciate the Shedd's history and all that goes in to making this amazing operation work.
Definitely a must for those that have been to the shed before.
Terrific! Just what I was hoping for-went behind exhibits to see feeding rooms & hospital stations. The guides were informative and friendly. Got into all exhibits & shows with with express check in. That alone made it worthwhile. Great job-anyone who takes care if critters will enjoy this!
It was great! Very interesting and learned so much about what really goes on at Shedd. Made me want to sign up to volunteer there!
