    beautiful event

by sonhomeu on 1/29/18Apollo Theater - New York

It was a bummer Whoopi Goldberg got the flu and couldn't host the event; it was missing an emcee and the tickets suddenly felt overpriced without her there. However all the music was excellent and hopefully the concert benefited the Otis Redding Foundation. Dock of the Bay is truly timeless now 50 years in, and it was lovely to hear a diverse group of artists pay tribute to the late Otis Redding in this cozy and historical venue.

apollo theatre was a good home.

by tbonetbonetbone on 1/28/18Apollo Theater - New York

this event could have been spectacular.in the beginning they announced the host whoopie goldberg couldnt make it.that was the first sign of trouble. there was a full ensemble on stage.the dap kings were a really good house band. preservation hall were good too. after that there was a run of old retired musicians who didnt seem to be ready for a show.did they even do a rehearsal? the high light for the evening was when marcus king and warren haynes showed up.together they lifted the energy level to a new platform. sadly after they left the stage it got boring. yes there were a few legends and old time otis performers but it just fell flat. the son of otis redding is not any were on the same level of his father. he does not have the voice, talent or stage presence. if they wanted to show respect for otis then they should have left there egos at home.they should have gotten performers of major levels. if they do this again it would be better to hire more professional acts. on a technical aspect there was issues with the sound. worst sound ever at the apollo.

    Inspiration!

by Anonymous on 11/15/16Concord Pavilion - Concord

Sharon Jones is a powerhouse! Amazing voice and incredible energy! I wish she was not just the opening act but the headliner. Her performance while battling cancer is truly an inspiration.

    Trombone Shorty stole the show

by RickinBG on 7/27/16The Rose Music Center at The Heights - Huber Heights

Sharon Jones was absolutely courageous and put on a great show, but Trombone Shorty was electric from the opening song and had the audience in his hands.

by Anonymous on 1/3/16House of Blues Chicago - Chicago

Paid for the upgrade and service was outstanding start to finish! Yen our server for dinner, Jaclyn our waitress for the show, and Willie our security took care of any and everything. Top notch class act. Great seats with room to dance.
