Shake Rattle n Roll was FAB

by FormerCoachinTO on 10/17/11Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

These guys (and gals) were OUTstanding... and had enough sense NOT to blare the sound system so that it hurts one's ears. Great singers (that falsetto is GREAT), superb musicians, seasoned pros with stage presence, funny, and clearly enjoying what they do. Three solid hours (with one 15 minute break) of virtually non-stop classic oldies, all well-done. That lead guitarist was channeling George on the Beatles set.

It was a fun evening of great music. Any oldies music lover would enjoy this show.

    Shake Rattle and Roll

by Marheart on 10/17/11Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

All of you have skills and talent that are admirable. I know it's not easy to find a venue to display them. You are brave to put yourself out there, then ask for a critique. I suggest you hire a professional who can give you some tips about how to break up the singing with incidental jokes, side remarks, perhaps a skit, etc. The twist dancing was a super idea to bring the audience into the performance. We paid a lot in ticket fees. It's too bad you don't get part of those proceeds too. A variety of activities during the performance would release the numb feeling after an hour of the same script delivery. The intro. via a recording really helps. The costume changes emphasis the performance changes and that helps too. A late start, long intermission, and lack of variety in the performance styles, is probably what caused people to feel uncomfortable enough with all that sitting, to get up and leave after 10:00pm.

Shake Rattle and Roll was very good

by Babakagha on 10/17/11Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

Generally awesome, especially the 50s segment. I expected to see more 60s music I recognized though. Quite a few of the 60s music was not the more famous stuff I expected.

Shake, Rattle & Roll REALLY did shake & Rattled!

by Sheree2010 on 10/17/11Scherr Forum-Thousand Oaks Civic Arts - Thousand Oaks

EXCELLENT show. A must-see for baby boomers! Really great band that sounded EXACTLY like the original artists. Good audience inter-action. Left the theatre smiling ear-to-ear.
