Sezen Aksu Tickets

She is the greatest mega star of all times. So looking forward to concert.

I was in town for a convention and looking for a show to see. Since Pink w/Hives was sold out, I did some searching and found this show. Sezen has been around since 1975 and is the first Turkish woman to write her own songs in her native language. I listened to some stuff on youtube and was sold this would be a good show and an added bonus this was her first performance in North America. She performs a nice pop style infused with traditional Turkish music and Western sensibilities. Considered one of the biggest musical names in her native country, she knows how to play to an audience and she had the crowd at the first song. While I didn't understand word one (I think I was the only non-Turkish person in the audience), I did get caught up in the atmosphere and enjoyed the music. More people should should get out an experience different artist and the Sony Performing Arts Centre has some of the best sound around. She performed two wonderful sets that made me glad to have experienced her unique style. I can always see Pink but Sezen is a true rarity.
