Great Christmas tradition with the children!!
by madan6063 on 12/18/13The Warner Theatre - WashingtonThis is a wonderful production that takes professional ballet to be attractive to school age children. The performance includes children in almost every scene -- an explanation, perhaps, for the recorded music, since it is easier to follow for a child. Children in the audience can identify themselves with the mischievous boys and the sweet girls with fabulous dresses at the party scene; they mesmerize at the dances of the native american and soldier puppets and cheer for the soldier toys fighting the rats in the battle scene. Adults stay in awe at the technique of the prima ballerinas and the cavaliers, and their hearts jump in expectation when Brooklyn Mac leaps in the air. My children are teenagers now, but this is one Christmas tradition that they do not want to drop.
