Great accustic in the theater.... loved the show, music was extraordinary....
Amazing show. 400 Blows are a powerful, convulsive eruption of sonic abruptness and discordant fire. And the drummer. Holy crap. That dude beats his drums like they owe him money. Scratch Acid were more than I hoped for, minus the nudity. They simply crushed it. David Yow was a stomping, apoplectic deranged creature who owned the stage. Bradford's scowling fretwork, David Wm Sims' fluid basswork and Rey Washam's thundering percussion grabbed you by your spine and compelled you to dance and thrash about on the edge of manic hysteria. This was awesome. I hope to see them again soon.
Having only discovered Scratch Acid and the Jesus Lizard within the past 2 years or so, being able to attend this concert was a dream come true. So awesome.
The Paradise in Boston should sell their own tickets online as a free service! Ticketmaster expects a free review!? HAHAHA... No way.
Rad show ! Just got there right before Scratch Acid played. It was a fun time. Definately go see them if you get a chance ! David Yow never ceases to amaze audiences!
25 years. That's how long I've waited for this show. Yow was at his frenzied manic best, and Sims, et. al. were surgically tight. Great venue. Great show. Worth the wait.
Having been a longtime fan of the Jesus Lizard and seeing them live well in the 15 or so performances range, I am always down to see David Yow in any capacity... But to see the legendary Scratch Acid with him and Sims? I never thought I would see the day. I recall they Touch & Go reunion a few years back but thought it was a one off... This was a stellar performance. Yow was in perfect form, Sims was rock solid as usual and Rey and Brett, who I have never seen live, played great. That's the plus with seeing guys like this reunite, they have been playing a long time so they tend to be on top of their game that way and they were. I know David isn't too interested in doing music much anymore but man, I hope this comes back again some day down the road...
