About

SAY HI IN CONCERT:

For the past decade, Seattle-based indie rock outfit Say Hi has been turning out catchy songs that marry witty, humorous lyrics with brilliant melodicism and inventive instrumentation. Say Hi is the project of singer and multi-instrumentalist Eric Elbogen, who plays all the instruments on the recordings he makes in his home studio. On tour he occasionally enlists the help of a backing band, but more often commands the stage solo, conjuring up an impressively full sound with little more than his laptop, a sampler, and live vocals. Whether he's soaking up the emotional “Devils” or boogieing down “Take Ya’ Dancin'”, Elboegn always delivers a phenomenal show chock-full of intelligent indie rock songwriting and feel-good energy.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

California-born Eric Elbogen grew up in the San Fernando Valley and attended UCLA before moving to Brooklyn in 2002 to launch Say Hi to Your Mom. He made his album debut in 2002 with the album Discosadness, which he recorded on a Windows computer that he built himself. A prolific writer and producer, he released three more albums over the next several years including 2006’s Impeccable Blahs, a concept album written almost entirely about vampires. For his fifth album, 2008’s The Wishes and the Glitch, Elbogen shortened the project’s name to Say Hi, noting that the former moniker no longer fit his aesthetic. As Say Hi, Elbogen continued to write and record at an impressive clip, releasing several more albums including 2014’s Endless Wonder. With eight albums of wildly diverse indie rock in reserve, Say Hi has plenty of material to draw from on tour for captivated audiences

    Nice!

Didn't make the opening acts, but great show by the band! Only complaint is that I wish they played longer -- an hour's not enough!!! Bowery Ballroom made a good venue also.

I wasnt familiar with when the star act would come out and brought a 15 year old and we left before he even played. I thought the show was at 8:00, not 11:00pm. I couldnt let her stay out that late on a school nite. And she was disappointed. I would like a credit to get tickets for something else. I learned from this though.
