Sasheer Zamata first fell in love with comedy in high school, and her passion for making people laugh eventually led her to found the long-form improv group Amuse Bouche while she was attending the University of Virginia. After graduating she moved to New York to train at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre, where she soon became a regular performer. While running a successful YouTube channel (where she launched notable impressions of Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, and Tyra Banks, among others), she also landed guest roles on Inside Amy Schumer and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell. Zamata was then selected as a featured cast member on NBC's long-running sketch comedy show Saturday Night Live, making her debut in 2015 before becoming a repertory player the following season.
