The best place to watch DIV 1 volleyballl

    by volleyball coach on 9/11/19

I've been to a lot of fancy venues, and nothing compares to the historic Yoshihiro Uchida Gym. The elevated wooden benches add to the experience of seeing a D1 volleyball team up close and personal. For a volleyball coach, its easy for players to see blocking, transition footwork, hitting footwork, and the famed back row attack (which is a signature play from SJSU). For quick snacks go meet the actual beach players working the concession stand. And when players get tired, Pizza My Heart and Yogurtland are just across the street. And the historic Black Power Statue is within walking distance, and parking is close by.

    It was expected

by Kblattner on 11/15/10San Jose State University Spartan Gym - San Jose

The end result was what was expected when playing against a ranked opponent. I was expecting more from the home team though. I felt that they brought alot to the program in regards to talent... but they must not have been performing to what was expected... they came in defeated. I was disappointed in the "concession stand" though. They served me a warm soda. It was okay to quench the thirst... but I was expecting something cold. We chose seats above the down ref on top. Great seats to watch the game, however, there was a photographer there taking pakings. I think he was part of the university. He stood right in front of us taking pictures, but when he was finished snapping pics of the game... he stood right in front of our views. I missed a great play... but I told myself he "was doing a job". I thought that the price was right though for a fun time on a Saturday afternoon.
