Loved the love and energy I felt with this group, and loved that they allowed the audience to participate with them on certain songs. Hearing each singer give a short summary after a solo was so inspiring.
The Choir Was amazing!! Unfortunately the mixing of the voices and the instruments was dominated by the instruments. We came to hear the Choir, not the piano player. The Balboa Theater needs to work harder on its acoustics, Sound system, and level of amplification. That said, we would go see the choir perform somewhere else in a heartbeat!!!
The concert was great. For the overture piece we couldn't see the musicians at all, as they were alone at the back of the stage hidden under their music stands. Once the rest of the orchestra came in they were still hidden, but didn't look ridiculous. The piano soloist was excellent, and even did an encore with very fancy hand motion. We loved the Beethoven 3 Concerto, and the Beethoven 4 Symphony is an old friend.
Very nice, well played. Beethoven symphony number 3 and 4 in a very cozy San Diego Civic Theatre.
Started late. One piano player with 20 singers. The price of the ticket was outrageous for the poor concert. The Vienna Boys Choir was good, however hard to hear.
I was very pleased with the quality of sound from the show.
