Was very disappointed when we got there and found out that Chris Tomlin only played a small portion of the show, and Steven Curtis Chapman only played a couple of songs. I drove 10 hours to see them thinking it was a full concert with just the two of them. I didn't recall on the tickets that there would be anybody else playing.
My family was in Nashville for a couple of days in March. Since no trip to Nashville is complete without a concert, we checked the schedule for the Ryman and discovered tickets to Sam's Place were available Sunday night. This monthly show is hosted by Steven Curtis Chapman and features several guests performances. This show is a must for Steve Curtis Chapman and Contemporary Christian Music fans. This month featured SCC preforming songs from his new album released three days earlier along with performances by Big Daddy Weave, Craig Wayne Boyd, Love and the Outcome and Matt Maher. Think a Christian version of the Grand Ole Opry. Show lasted 2 1/2 hours and included great music from everyone. A shortened version of event is supposed to be available from K-Love. Steven joined the other artists at several points including the finale with everyone present that night (except Love and the outcome who had to return home with their 3 week old baby) A great venue with spirit filled music from and a unforgettable lineup. We will coordinate our next trip to Nashville with the Sam's place schedule!
Very good, especially Ronnie Milsap, who is same age as me-73- and sang my favorite song "stand by me".
As usual an amazing experience. Can't wait for next month.
