STRFKR on Tour
STRFKR has always been a constantly evolving entity, growing over the years from rambunctious beginnings into the manicured electro-pop perfection they exhibited on their last studio album, 2016's pristine Being No One, Going Nowhere. New single "Never The Same" is a sharp left turn from anything the band has explored before, hitting hard with a minimal arrangement of acoustic guitars, stripped down drums and Josh Hodges' familiar weightless vocals all bathed in lo-fi production. The song is warm and direct, with twisting melodies and a straightforward delivery that highlights how vulnerable the band's lyrics can be. This kind of careful, hushed energy is new territory for STRFKR, and it's a risky move for a band loved for their exclamatory synth pop. Going out on this ledge results in one of the band's most immediate and rewarding songs, one that's strange and beautiful but as intense as a secret being whispered in your ear.
Have seen STRFKR a few times and it’s always like a party. Confetti, dancers, and great music. This is a group you don’t want to miss if you want to have a good time.
STRFKR knows how to play a show! The screen illustrations were awesome. Love the endless confetti. Great selection of merch. An opportunity to meet the band. It really felt like the life of a party, one to dance. Best 2 hours and it is a show you need to experience at least once in your life.
Best show I have seen in my life. Visual affects are spectacular. Music is what you'd expect, definitely worth ✨️ it.
STRFKR didn't go on until after 11, wish we could know the schedule before buying tickets
Waited 3 hours before the headliner finally came on! My feet hurt so bad and I was so tired I could only stand to stay for 3 of their songs. Opening acts were interesting. . . As bizarre as HappySadFace was I loved him! But the lady right before STRFCKR damn near put the whole building to sleep.
The show was spectacular! The only problem was that the vocals were very muffled for all bands (even openers). I'm not sure if it was a problem with the speakers or the sound people but you couldn't understand what anyone was singing. It sounded like humming.
Happy Sad Face was a crazy weird awesome opener and STRFKR absolutely blew me away. There was also another act in the middle that I kind of tuned out for. Don’t remember their name.
I'm a casual fan, at most, of STRFKR so I wasn't really sure what to expect from the concert. I missed Happy Sad Face, but Ruth played a really solid set. STRFKR themselves put on an excellent show and I was happily surprised by the occasional tightly choreographed dance numbers. The audience was very friendly and the whole night was just a good vibe.
Had a great time. Just wish the concerts would end at 11:00 pm
Most humble band ever! They opened with some awesome new songs and then said, “bear with us, we’re playing 7 songs for the first time” as if they hadn’t just started off with a fantastic performance. They play better live than in studio, just my opinion! Venue’s speakers were struggling at one point, but that took very little away from the experience overall. I wish I’d gotten tickets to the other shows on their tour because I’d absolutely see them again.
