About

RUN RIVER NORTH IN CONCERT:

Korean-American folk-pop outfit Run River North has quickly become a critical buzzband with their sunny tunes and web-savvy music videos. The sextet's intricate guy/girl vocal harmonies form the basis of their sound, and they deliver upbeat tracks like "Fight to Keep" with pitch-perfect precision at their celebratory live shows. Whether they're rocking out to "Excuses" or slowing things down with the poignant "Foxbeard", Run River North always deliver a dynamic and emotional concert experience fans of heartfelt indie folk won't want to miss.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Run River North formed in Los Angeles in 2011 under the moniker Monsters Calling Home. In 2012 they recorded the song and the music video for their track "Fight To Keep" inside their Hondas, leading the carmaker to feature the group in a guerilla ad campaign shot during an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live! The exposure proved a boon for the band, leading to extensive touring throughout Southern California and a deal with Nettwerk Records. After changing their name to Run River North, the band began work on their first full-length album with acclaimed producer Phil Ek (Fleet Foxes, Father John Misty). The result was their self-titled 2014 debut LP, a critically acclaimed release that has ticket buyers eager to catch the band on tour.

    Run River North is Amazing

by JJVick on 7/23/16The Basement - Columbus

This was the second show I've seen with RRN this year, and they continue to blow me away with their talent. I liked the set they played in Columbus better than the set in Nashville--they included two B sides and a Killers cover, then did an encore of "Growing Up" with Lighthouse and the Whaler. I will make a point of seeing RRN any time they are close to where I live and hope to hear them on the radio more and more.

    Run River North was AMAZING!

by Puresky on 4/24/16The Cambridge Room at House Of Blues - Dallas

Awesome band, awesome show!! I was finally able to see them play live and I loved it. They were truly wonderful. Very down to earth and engaged the crowd throughout the night. It was very nice that they played some of their older songs. And the last song, we all sang with them. I also loved the band that opened for them - The Lighthouse and the Whaler. First time to listen to their songs and I am a fan now.

    East Side Club Gig

by ImeldaFan on 4/16/16Gramercy Theatre - New York

Halfway through the show, it became obvious this wasn't your typical alt-rock band. While at the outset the guitars and drums had overpowered violinist Jennifer Rim, as the band settled down into "Foxbeard" she took over the melody as the band supplied the harmonies. Guitarist Daniel Chae said they weren't the Asian Mumford any more as they debuted "David Robinson," "Funeral Parade," and "Winter Wind." But it was on long jam that ended "Beetle" that everything came together -- the driving beat, the classical flourishes, and the intricate guitar work.

    Run River North is amazing.

by dizzyiris14 on 7/29/14Bowery Ballroom - New York

The first band, Andy Suzuki and The Method, were pretty good. I didn't care for the second band, The Lighthouse And The Whaler, they didn't seem to stand out to me but seemed to have a number of fans there. I have seen Run River North several times, as they have opened for the Goo Goo Dolls on NYE 2013 and the Goo Goo Dolls' spring Otis Midnight Sessions acoustic tour. They are truly amazing and I am such a fan of the musicality and energy that the band has.

Love all the acts and they had great stage presence. Great sets by Andy Suzuki & The Method. Love The Lighthouse and the Whaler. Would love to see all three groups again!

    Best Concert I've Been To

by Reeeeeeeeeeeeebs on 7/29/14Bowery Ballroom - New York

I have been to quite my few share of concerts, ranging from concerts such as The XX to Josh Garrels. Without a doubt, however, this concert was my absolute favorite. Andy Suzuki and the Method, the Lighthouse and the Whaler, and Run River North were all unforgettable. It honestly felt like a personal concert just for me. The bands were so good live and knew how to be engaging. I was tired, hungry, and in quite a lot of physical pain; yet, I had the most amazing time. From Andy's vocals and humor, to the Lighthouse and the Whaler's sick mix, to RRN charisma and stage presence, it was amazing.

by edenjadejacob on 7/29/14Bowery Ballroom - New York

They were amazing and they put on SUCH a great show! They're music is on point and they're even better live. I've been to a lot of concerts including Mumford & Sons and Ben Howard and RRN was probably one of THE best concerts I have ever been to.
