About

ROYKSOPP IN CONCERT:

Norwegian electronica legends Royksopp have been experimenting with synths and drum machines since first stepping onto the scene in the late-'90s. Their live shows are a feast for the eyes and ears as the band plays signature hits like "Eple" and "Happy Up Here" dressed in elaborate stagewear, often making several wardrobe changes during their sets. Whether they're building beats or toying with unique sounds on stage, Royksopp deliver an electrifying performance every time with an amazing light show and frequent guest appearances. Swedish electropop sensation Robyn will join the band for their Royksopp and Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014, treating fans to a special collaboration on a string of worldwide tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Original Royksopp members Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brundtland met at a young age and became friends after realizing their mutual love for electronica music. Although they parted ways soon after, the duo reunited eight years later to form Royksopp, breaking into the mainstream with their 2001 debut Melody A.M, a No. 1 hit in their native Norway. Since then, the band has released three more chart-topping studio albums, won seven Spellemannprisen awards (AKA Norwegian Grammys), and remixed artists like Coldplay and Peter Gabriel. The collaborations continue for the band as they set out on the Royksopp and Robyn Do It Again Tour 2014 alongside the fellow Scandinavian singer.

Amazing concert! Not only is Royksopp one of the best bands in the world, but they really gave a lot of thought into making their concert an incredible audio/visual experience for the audience. And they were clearly having a great time, as well.

Best concert I've seen, hands down!

by Songe on 4/7/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Royksopp put on such a great show. I thought the only way I'd see them was if I made it to europe..I'm so happy to be wrong. If they were to ever come back to the West Coast, I'll be there!

    Royksopp - It's What I Want!

by kickinnc on 4/4/11Masquerade - Atlanta

What a high-energy, fast-paced, tight show! They played all the favorites true to the albums or better. This is my second time seeing them live within the year, and they blew me away each time.

    Great Show BUT...

by smartypantz on 4/3/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

The opening act John Hopkins was very good played really good songs. kept the energy up all the making for a great opening act. Me and my friend had a great time listening to the music and Royksopp was amazing, but there was a couple that really tried to ruin the show for the people around them. They were very obnoxious and even tried to start a fight with me and my friend! This was my first Royksopp concert and that was not the way I wanted the night to play out. We were both very sore the next morning after trying to get the guy away from us... BUT the music was sooooo amazing live, they were very lively and played for an extra 15 minutes which was much appreciated. I would go see them again definitely and I can only hope that I don't run into people that rude again.

    Royksopp was amazing!

by Mary1976 on 4/3/11The Regency Ballroom - San Francisco

Royksopp delivered great music! The quality of music these guys create and the energy they pour into their works are unbelievable. They played songs from Junior, Melody AM and The Understanding. They included a song from their track of the month. I was hoping for some songs from Senior....maybe next time. The sound was well controlled so that melodies were easily heard. I was right at the front of the stage. It did get stuffy and hot inside. The place was packed, but for the most part the crowd was pretty controlled - after all it is a concert - and Royksopp rocked it. Jon Hopkins was the opener. He played it well. I hope we don't have to wait long for Royksopp to return to San Francisco!
