    Sooooo Good

If you haven't seen RNZB, you should do what you can to see them. This program was outstanding. We just loved it. And we weren't alone. The whole experience was top-notch. Excellent dancing, marvelous choreography. A wonderful evening all around.

Interesting: Good Idea for A Date Though

    by BalletVirgin729 on 2/11/14Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I've never been to a ballet but I put down the man card to surprise my girlfriend with a different date night. Knowing she danced in her youth, bringing her to a ballet was a nice way to show my acknowledgement of her interests. She enjoyed it because she understood the technicalities of dance, specifically "on pointe." The show was a compilation of dances so the lack of story line didn't support my attention to the fullest but I was impressed by the dancers abilities. I feel the show is tailored to individuals who appreciate different styles of dance versus a story. All in all, she liked it.

    Surprisingly good

by ChubbyElf on 2/11/14Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

I saw this company in a small town in NZ about 10 years ago. It was a pleasant evening, but nothing special. Now, NZ Ballet is very good indeed. Their best male dancer was easily the equal of the guest principal ballerina from ABT. I came home and looked up their schedule to see if I could catch another performance.

Amazing performance - not a good venue for dance

    by DanceDad38 on 2/11/14Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

The Royal New Zealand Ballet was amazing. Gillian Murphey was awesome! The downside is the main floor seating is such that there was big head right in front of me so I spent the entire performance watching like a tennis match. To top it off the big "red" head and her friend thought their commentary was more important than everyone else's enjoyment of the show.

    Royal New Zealand Ballet

    by gustiegirl5 on 2/11/14Orpheum Theatre - Minneapolis

We enjoyed the ballet a lot. The dancers were good. I liked the pieces they chose very much. So despite the cold weather we were glad that we had gone. The audience was not familiar with the tradition that most ballets are given applause after each number. One they caught on, it felt more comfortable. I recommend that you put something in the program about it. I am also a fan of the Orchestra. I liked the professional way the sponsors were thanked both in the program and announcements. I'm going to recommend it to the Orchestra. Thank you so much for the show. Dori Mace PS. We are looking forward to the ABC ballet in April. We'll get to Northrop Hall!
