Even though Roomful of Blues' lineup has changed over the years, the band has always been one of the tightest, most joyful blues ensembles in the world. Currently an eight-piece unit led by guitarist Chris Vachon, the band has never sounded fresher or stronger. In 2007, singer Dave Howard took over the vocal duties, bringing his gritty and soulful vocals and adding another bright new dimension to the jazzy, jump-blues musical roots. Their winning combination of jump, swing, blues, R&B and soul remains their calling card, as does their ability to fill the dance floor.

Second time at Jimmy's, amazing venue, acoustics are great, service is ight in time. Wil definitely back, can't wait to see Robert cray in Sept!
Played for two 45 minute segments. Second segment they brought the house down. Great guitar, great singer and great horns. What a great concert at Jimmyâs, a great venue!
Evening was very good. Sound person neede to do a better job balancing the vocalist with the band - often could not hear his vocals
Our first time at Jimmy's , what a fabulous venue!! Food, service and decor just wonderful!! And of course, Roomful of Blues performance was great. We are uprooted RI music fans of the band....so it was great to have live music in a fabulous venue!!
Throughout the years, despite numerous personnel changes, this band continues to excel in live shows. The rhythm section is tight, the horns are outstanding, guitarist Chris Vachon is great without being flashy or showy, and the frontman fills the bill well. If you love live music, this band is for you.And if you get a chance to see a show at Blue Ocean Music Hall, do it; this is one outstanding venue.
Critically acclaimed jump blues band lived up to their reputation. Tight horn, fantastic rhythm section with incredible lead vocals and an incredible lead guitarist. It has to be seen live ... they are simply great. Even if you have never listened to jump blues ... on listen and u will be hooked!
Roomful still makes the world stand still! Love the horns! Love Chris Vachon's insane guitar solos! Great new keyboardist. And even though we still mourn the loss of Bob "Bubba" Enos on trumpet, the new guy has a great sound and fits the Roomful sound very nicely. Gracie Curran and the Hi-Falutin' Band is, by far, the most exciting new sound on the local blues scene. Fabulous energy, very few covers - her original songs are awesome. If you can catch a listen to their new CD "Proof of Love", do it! See if you recognize the baritone/alto sax player - if you're a Roomful fan, you can't miss him! And finally, who knew a local bunch of 17-year olds could rock the house! If you're on Facebook, look up The Dirty Floorboards! If you don't remember your own roots playing in a garage band or growing up in the 70's, you're definitely not playing with a full deck!!
Great event. The whole band is in synch and each member is a standout artist in his own right. Will go and see them again.
Roomful of Blues was absolutely fantastic. The talent on that stage was overwhelming. Incredible. Highly recommended and a definite must, must see. Worth every single penny.
