About

Comedian Ron "Tater Salad" White first rose to fame as the cigar-smoking, scotch-drinking funnyman from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour phenomenon, but now as a chart-topping Grammy-nominated comedian and a feature film actor, Ron White has established himself as a star in his own right. White has always been a classic storyteller. His stories relay tales from his real life, ranging from growing up in a small town in Texas to sharing stories of his daily life to becoming one of the most successful comedians in America. He has sold over 14 million albums (solo and with the Blue Collar Comedy Tour), been nominated for two Grammys, and has consistently been one of the top grossing stand up comedians on tour in America.

Ron White began performing comedy in 1986 and was quickly opening for legendary comedians Sam Kinison and Jeff Foxworthy. While eventually making the rounds as a comedy club headliner, in 2000, White was asked to join the Blue Collar Comedy Tour alongside Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and Larry the Cable Guy. The show toured for over three years to sold-out audiences in over 270 cities and grossed more than $35 million. In 2003, Warner Brothers filmed the show, Blue Collar Comedy Tour: The Movie for a theatrical/TV/DVD/CD release. The film premiered as the most-watched movie in Comedy Central's history. In 2005, the video Blue Collar Comedy Tour Rides Again was filmed and released on TV and DVD/CD.

In November of 2003, White released his breakthrough comedy CD Drunk In Public followed by his first one-hour TV comedy special They Call Me Tater Salad. The special had the highest viewership for a Sunday program in Comedy Central history. The DVD version reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. White's second one-hour special You Can't Fix Stupid aired on Comedy Central to 4.5 million viewers, making it the third largest audience in Comedy Central's history and the #1 show on primetime basic cable. The CD reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Charts and remained there for 9 consecutive weeks. This success also earned White his first Grammy nomination. Ron received his second Grammy nod for the show Blue Collar Comedy Tour - One for The Road. In June 2006, Penguin Books released Ron's first book Ron "Tater Salad" White: I Had the Right to Remain Silent...But I Didn't Have the Ability, which landed him on the New York Times Best Seller List. In 2009, Ron released his 3rd album Behavioral Problems, which reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. In 2013 Ron's 4th album, A Little Unprofessional, also reached #1 on the Billboard Comedy Chart. Never one to rest on his laurels, Ron White partnered with Netflix to release his most recent effort- the highly successful comedy special, "If You'd Quit Listening, I'd Shut Up."

As an actor, Ron White has had supporting roles in the major theatrical films Horrible Bosses and Sex and the City 2. He also had a principal role in Jayne Mansfield's Car (written/directed by Billy Bob Thornton). He was a co-Executive Producer of Bridegroom, a Linda Bloodworth-Thomason documentary, which debuted at the 2013 NYC Tribeca Film Festival and won the Audience Award. In 2016, Ron White's acting talents were showcased alongside Luke Wilson, Carla Gugino, and Imogen Poots, in music-industry veteran Cameron Crowe's Showtime series, Roadies. White played road-tested tour manager Phil in a critically praised performance.

Live performances on a comedy stage remain the life-blood of Ron White, and after all these years, the fans still can't get enough. White maintains a rigid touring schedule, and plays to sold out crowds all over the country night after night. The industry also continues to take notice; in 2021, Ron White was nominated as Pollstar's Comedy Touring Artist of the Decade.

    venue acoustics ruined the event

by radioscottie on 4/23/24Seminole Hard Rock Tampa Event Center - Tampa

this was not done in a concert hall or venue regularly used for this type of performance.. more like a ball room where dinners or corporate speeches are held. flat walls and lack of speakers giving the audience direct (instead of the reflected we heard) audio of Ron White made the event painful and only half of it was clearly understood. and thats in bits and pieces! if you sat off to the side of the stage, you didnt get direct sound from the big hung strings of speakers.. they all pointed forward not to the side... so what we all heard was echo and bouncing sound, making it very difficult to understand Ron White. i would be careful to understand the venue before seeing any performance with the cost of tickets these days.

    Not anymore

by HK on 4/23/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

He's not funny anymore. He was on stage for a total of 45 minutes. VERY disappointing! After paying $80 for a ticket plus the time & gas to drive an hour+ each way = NOPE!

by Cindy L on 4/23/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Ron White is still hilarious and so glad we went. He puts on a great show and love his sense humor. Friends of ours had never heard him before and we all laughed till our guts hurt. Was thinking it was gonna be alittle longer show but loved it.

    Ron White hard rock Hollywood

by Maineaic on 4/23/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Very funny show but I was disappointed that he only did one hour. For the price it should have been a lot longer. Would not waste my money again.

Ron was great, the venue, not so much

by LT on 4/23/24Hard Rock Live Orlando - Orlando

I've been watching Ron White for a long time. This was my first opportunity to see him live. The show is great, if maybe a little bit rushed. Ending seemed a little abrupt but I know he was doing another show so I assume it's related to getting the venue turned over for the second show. As for the venue, first, I had no idea I was going to be seated in a portable dining chair and not a theater or auditorium seat. These chairs were poorly laid out and not properly aligned to center stage. They were facing a point on the wall 50 feet left of stage. In the view between my seat and center stage was the guy in the next row down, one seat to my right who was a linebacker sized dude. I had to spend the entire show straining to either my left or my right, depending on his movement, just to see center stage. Theater seating is supposed to be offset such that no two seats in adjacent rows are both in line with center stage, so all seats are looking in between two seats in front of them. This is a pretty embarrassing oversight by the theater. It's Hard Rock live. They should know better. Someone should care about this. It made for an easily avoidable significant discomfort throughout the entire show. It was not due to the size of the guy. It was due to the apparent carelessness of whomever is responsible for the layout of the dining chairs. Very bad look for Hard Rock and considering the money paid. Do better Hard Rock. Patrons expect a little more care put into seating position. Also, the audio was not mixed to these side seats either. At several points during the show I simply could not clearly hear what Ron was saying. At least tell people when they are going to be seated in temporary dining seats with bad sight lines and iffy audio. Then at least an informed decision can be made by the patron.

Needs to retire again, but this time for GOOD.

by Thehills on 4/23/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Not funny anymore. Same facial expressions time after time, same jokes and stories, nothing new. What a waste of money and our time.

    An enjoyable experience.

by Fan on 4/23/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Ron's material consisted of too much old material from what he performed before he took a year off.

    Disappointing

by Disappointed fan on 4/23/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Getting tickets through ticket master was a good experience. However seeing Ron. white at the same venue (Hard Rock Hollywood)I saw him at right before he retired was disappointing. First show I saw was amazing but this time it was not. Seemed disengaged, just doing a job with no passion. He told the same jokes as perviously and show was shorter. I believe he should have stayed retired!
