First of all, this is not a "show" so I don't know why it is listed as such. And also, there is NO DOME. It'd actually in a banquet room and it was basically an awkward wedding reception you were forced to go to. With that said, it did end up being a lot of fun. I was with a group of friends and there were multiple bars placed throughout the room which helped us enjoy ourselves. I'm pretty sure we were the youngest people there. We did not expect to be singing along to "Shout!" or what seemed like half of the Grease soundtrack, but nonetheless it was an enjoyable time. I'd go again, maybe when I'm 35-40.

    Totally Poor

by BBob72 on 1/4/15Silver Legacy Casino - Reno

Weak... Very poor given the hype. Silver Legacy should have a better New Years bash.

The dance party was way overpriced considering all the other free options available in Reno. It reminded me of a junior high dance. The music that was played was dated and not always appropriate for a dance party unless you're 60-70 years old. It was a horrible waste of money.

    Event was WAY over hyped

by Anonymous on 1/3/12Silver Legacy Casino - Reno

I saw review after review for New Years in Reno saying this was the hottest party in town... it wasn't. While the DJ was good, I have seen weddings with bigger dance floors. The free drinks from the well were pretty terrible too. I couldn't even get a Manhattan for my drink ticket because they had no bourbon in the well. To be fair, you could pay more and get more variety, but I expect to be able to have at least one version of all the basic alcohol in any well. The guests in attendance also very much resembled a wedding. It was a sort of bimodal distribution between people in their mid-20s to early 30s and people over 50, with more of the older crowd than the younger. The reviews I read also indicated that you could see the fireworks through a glass dome, but that was completely untrue; we had to go outside to see them just like everyone else. Then by the time the fireworks were done, the party was over. Who has heard of a New Year's party that ends at 1pm? If the party had only cost $15 instead of $30 it might have been worth it with the free drink, but I absolutely will not be back next year.

    Wow

Friends came up with party and we all agreed on a party together To me it seemed that we where at a wedding party. It was close to being empty than full. We left at 11pm and walked the strets and casinos.

Would not go to another even if it was free..

by KELMorgan on 1/3/11Silver Legacy Casino - Reno

My husband and I purchased the tickets to go to the Rockin under the dome New Years Party. Partly it was New Years more importantly it was also our 8 YR anniversary. The event in my opinion was falsely advertised. We arrived checked our coats and went in. We looked around and the party was not full at all. We grabbed a drink and decided to go somewhere else. We went back close to 11:00 pm they were playing 70's music the dance floor was sparse. We asked the bartender what was up with the music and he said that there were a lot of complaints about it. We stayed a few more minutes and decided that we wanted to spend our New Year/Anniversary some where fun. So we left and ended up having a great time at another party. We paid $30.00 each and maybe we were there a total of 10 minutes. This had to be the worse event we have ever attended. The only saving grace was it was in the Casino so we could get out and go other places and were not trapped inside... I could think of a lot better things I could of spent $60.00 on. I don't think my husband and I will be attending any more so called parties or events there. I actually did not even want to give it one star it was so bad.

    Fun...but for over 40

by MTJC2011 on 1/2/11Silver Legacy Casino - Reno

We did have fun at this event...but it took a while for the party to get started. The average age was about 45 and the DJ played older music. The party wasn't what we expected, but were happy about the free drink we got upon entry.

DJ was not responsive to the crowd at all regarding his play list. Many complaints and most of us left by 10:30 Reflected very poorly on the silver legacy..never again!
