KC Rockfest need to change venues!!!!

by Rockhead888 on 6/23/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

The lineup was great. But if only they would change venues to the racetrack in KCK or something. Between parking, mud, (which made this show hell) and no place to take a break and sit, it made it very difficult to actually enjoy the show. Which is the whole purpose of going. I get that this is a festival, but there are so many better options in this area than holding 50k+ people in the middle of a park that is located downtown in a very populated city where parking is crazy on a normal day.

    Worst Venue Ever!

by StablersWife on 6/22/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I will never go to this event again and definitely won't be recommending it to anyone. Even though we arrived an hour before the gates opened, we stood in line for over 2 hours and completely missed the first band. We thought we were prepared for all the mud, but there is no way to prepare for that. There was literally no place to sit in the entire venue. The event sold roughly 52,000 tickets and yet there were only about 19 port-a-potties. I waited in line for an hour to use the toilet and missed yet another band.

    another awesome Rockfest

by SlayerFan1 on 6/15/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Anthrax, Motionless in White, In This Moment and Tech N9ne brought it! They rocked! I've seen Rob Zombie one other time and the Rockfest performance was average at best.

by JuceKS on 6/13/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Even with all the slipping and sliding in the mud it was a great time.

    Need better set-up for stages/screeens

by iowarocks37 on 6/7/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

Both stages should have screens on both sides of where the band is playing. For an event with so many people, need better visibility from far away. The sound system wasn't that great. I was fairly close for Halestorm, but it sounded distorted. More screens should be set-up all throughout the venue. It was just too many people for how it was set-up this year, disappointed that I couldn't see the bands better. Should have more big screens so you don't have to be so packed in all the time. It gets old fighting the constant stream of people who insist on pushing past you when you've waited so long to get a prime place.

Concert was great I wish there had been more Metal and Heavier bands that had put out albums in recent times. It is very trendy bands but they were good. I would love to see bands like Coal Chamber, Devildriver, Chimaria, Throwdown, Hatebreed, Kingdom of Sorrow, ect show up.

    Great Bands, Poor Prep

by Anonymous on 6/4/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I loved every band that I was able to see! Unfortunately we missed the first two bands due to the endlessly long line. 50k people and you only have one entrance!? I can understand opening a bit later to lay down mulch, but come on! Another complaint I have is why wasn't any mulch laid down on the hill to give everyone an easier path to the porta-johns? The only non-uphill path to the johns were like LA traffic. There were enough positives to make it a 3-star, though. The bands this year were all solid; phenomenal job there! There were also a lot of good food and drink options at a pretty good price. The porta-johns were also pretty well maintained considering just how bad the weather was and how much use they saw. A good time, but please work on trying to expedite that line (especially if you're going to open them late).

    OtherWise was badass!

by Stormieyes on 6/4/15Liberty Memorial - Kansas City

I thought the venue was set up all crazy!! It was was muddy and cold. The bathrooms were set up below a hill of mud. Even though a couple of bands cancelled it was awesome!
