About
ROBERT PLANT AND THE SENSATIONAL SPACESHIFTERS:
More than 40 years into his illustrious career, rock legend and former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is still blowing minds with his band the Sensational Spaceshifters. The group's experimental live shows focus on the best elements of Plant's career, incorporating interstellar electronics and rootsy acoustics to craft otherworldly originals as well as unique reinventions of Led Zeppelin classics like “No Quarter” and “Black Dog”. While he’s updated his sound, the singer still performs with all the same charisma and vocal mastery that made him a superstar. Whether they're throwing it back with Led Zeppelin classic or playing cuts from 2014's Lullaby and… The Ceaseless Roar, Robert Plant and the Sensational Spaceshifters alwayts treat ticket buyers to a transcendent experience that redefines rock, electronica, and world music.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Robert Plant’s story is so inextricably woven into the mythos of rock and roll that it hardly needs repeating. As the lead singer of Led Zeppelin, Plant has left an indelible mark on generations of rock, heavy metal, and folk singers. Following the death of drummer John Bonham in 1980, Led Zeppelin immediately disbanded and Plant briefly considered abandoning music altogether. Fortunately, he embarked on a solo career in 1982, releasing the critically praised Pictures at Eleven. Despite some initial reluctance, Plant has also reunited with the remaining members of Led Zeppelin a number of times over the years, most notably when they were inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995. Following a 2007 reunion concert with the band, he decided to switch gears and team up with country singer Alison Krauss for the Americana and rockabilly-inspired record Raising Sand, which won the Album of the Year award at the 2009 Grammys. Since 2012 Plant has been busy recording and performing with his new band the Sensational Spaceshifters, a dynamic and experimental project that proves he remains as vital a musical force as ever.
