River North Dance Chicago Tickets

The opening piece was powerful and startling! Seeing an all male group dancing with each other in a manner that is common with all female corps, many times using lifts and supports normally done with a female partner, was a revelation. The dancers are very strong technically. Most of the segments were rather dark and heavy with negative emotion. However, the final piece was colorful, with fast upbeat movement and music, a great ending to the evening for those of us that enjoy dance but expect to be entertained as well.

River North was incredible. Precise display of gorgeous technique and supremely professional artists. Well done.

The dancers are incredible. I wished for more diversity in costuming and set. Also, I felt the program was a bit too long, taking away from the final pieces.

The dancers were extremely talented and the choreography was amazing. I went with a group of 6 women ranging in age from 23 to 85 and everyone loved the show.

I admit that I am a little biased as I have a friend who is in the company and was in the show. That said, this is the second time I have seen this company in Chicago (she was not there the first time) and it remains a favorite of mine. The dance is beautiful and compelling and the impact makes all the dancers seem larger than life on a fairly intimate stage (so long as you are in the Orchestra). I can't rave about this group and their work enough.

Great show that had 3 very different segments, all of which were very enjoyable. I've never been disapointed with anything that Orbert Davis has been a part of. River North Dance won me over as a new fan, as did Eva Cassidy, whose music River North danced to in the 2nd segment. Highly recommended 4.5 stars

River North and the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic were outstanding!

Original, vibrant, classic jazz mixed with a touch of the classical undertones. Orbert was like listening to Miles on Sketches of Spain. River North are not to be missed. One of the most creative modern dance companies.

Unbelievable music complemented by the most artistic and entertaining dance routines. This should be an annual event.
