    This ain’t Robert Barone...!

by 10inchrecord on 10/29/17Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

A terrible mismatch of a program. Rita opened the show and worked clean-as-a-whistle. Brad immediately followed (no intermission, as was advertised in the program) and went "blue" immediately. I mean RAUNCHY blue. He's also one of those performers who insult the audience, something that I don't think that the front rows (especially the family with the 13 and 16 year olds) were expecting)! Lots of people walked out; I don't mind Blue comedians, but it would have been fairer to the audience for Ticketmaster to issue a "mature audience only" label.

Classic Rita Rudner, Brad was awful!

by pposil on 10/29/17Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Rita Rudner was very good. I don't know why she opened for him, it was such a let down. He had no material and spoke for long lengths about his 'dog eating poo'. It was painful to watch and he was obviously not prepared. His only material was to mock every ethnicity in the audience, repeatedly. Really poor taste, I keep looking at the time hoping it would be over soon. I was sitting next to a wall or would have walked out, that's how bad he was.

    Rita and Brad

by ACMR on 10/29/17Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Rita Rudner was great. Her material was very funny and uplifting. Brad Garrett on the other hand, had no prepared material and was abusive and insulting. I felt as if he was bitter and angry. His short insulting performance was forgettable.

    Shock and awe

by youngpr on 10/29/17Tilles Center Concert Hall - Brookville

Rita was terrific as she has been for a long, long time. Mr. Garret, however seemed more interested in being vulgar and shocking his 65 year old audience than getting laughs. There were points where he was very funny, but these were clouded over by a recurring theme of anger. No wonder Everybody Loves Raymond but not Robbie.......

Class Act/ and not so class act

    by L1wolf on 3/22/14comedy - Newport News

Rita :Professional, charm, wit and talented. Anyone who has seen her on television doing standup will get as expected. A funny lady who has honed her act with great timing, and funny observations. She handles the men versus women relationships expertly without being denegrating or insulting. One of the few"clean" comics performing today she has rapid fire one liners and intelligent (think about it) comments. It was over all too soon. She gives all with no breaks and the only drawback is trying to remember all the funny lines! Btad GarrettBrad Garrett is trying to find himself. That's the feeling of his standup routine after a highly successful series and a series Bomb. Many "hate comics" find their niche by temporing humor with expression, however, Garrett crosses the line too many times which becomes embarassing and uncomfortable. From the reviews people either love him or hate his act. It was an hour of listening to his personal problems and coping with his inadequacies, failed marriage, and falling career. Using stereotypes in humor is always a balancing act and most people are prepared to laugh "with" a comic but don't appreciate it to be laughed "at" or insulted personally. Much of Garrett's routine is insulting to individuals and therefore "personal" . He has no prepared delivery or jokes, so his forte is extemporaneous from the audience present. That takes talent. Bill Cosby is one of the best at it. With Garrett it is all about him, him, him, and when he is not self absorbed with his life, he directs caustic humor towards audience members. Many sitting around me were uncomfortable as he lashed out at, women, southerners, indians, ethnic groups of all types, varying careers, an equal opportunity insulter for sure. The laughs are forced simply because it is uncomfortable rather than funny. He is far too graphic in his sexual/personal anatomy jokes. Not good for yournger audiences or if your wife/girlfriend/mother embarasses easily. Don't sit in the front three rows. 5 stars for Rita. 1 Star for Brad

Split Decision on Rita & Brad

by 123ac on 12/27/13Caesars Atlantic City - Atlantic City

Rita Rudner was fabulous - 5 stars for her. She is witty without being insulting, vulgar or crass. However the same could not be said for Brad Garrett. (If I wanted to know that much about his private parts I would have become a urologist.) His entire act is built on insulting the audience and basically just uttering vulgar comments. I am surprised Rita Rudner would even share the same bill with him. Garret has no "act". Rita is a class act. Rita gets 5 stars. Brad gets zero.
