bribed my nephews to go with me - we all loved it!
I was so excited to take my toddler to her first circus. I had not been in a few years, but I used to go every year prior to that and I always enjoyed the show. Well this show was not very enjoyable and I was very disappointed!! There was NO tigers and I think I only saw a few clowns!! Only one act performed at a time, not a few like many prior shows I had seen. Overall I am not sure I would even attend another one of their shows. This is very sad to me because I literally went every year and always enjoyed the show. I guess the economy has forced them to limit their act.
Out of the entire show, there was only 3 animal acts. We didn't go to the circus to watch dancers and singers. What circus doesn't have tigers??? With the high price, I expected higher quality. I will not buy tickets for this show again.
We were highly disappointed, taking our grandsons for their first circus. Where were the tigers and/or lions?? Too much acrobatic, children are NOT interested in that. And many of their stunts went on too long. Where was a clown??? I guess the skinny man with black pants/suspenders and glasses replaced him?? Not impressed at all. Will never go again. Horrible show... How do we go about getting our money (or some money) back on this show????
I've been to several other presentations of Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey Circus, and this one just seemed to lack a bit of the pizazz from other performances. I'm not sure if it was a result of Superstorm Sandy, but the arena was quite empty.
A fun filled family event. Not only did my 3 year old love it so did I!
I kept telling my 3 young grandsons that we would see elephants and lions or tigers but to my disappointment , only 2 elephants made a very brief appearance. The dog act was good but this was not like the circuses I remember as a child when there were lion tamers and much better elephant acts. My daughter-in-law has told me the Shriner's Circus is actually better and does have lions and costs much less. Not even a trapeze act??? Although the one young performer was good as a solo act on the high swing. For the money it was a disappointment and did not hold my grandsons' attentions very well. The clown act was pathetic for kids, they either couldn't see what was going or on if they could it was "over their heads" and they didn't get it. Not funny. Aren't their even any chimps that ride bikes anymore?? Too many "strong man" appearances too. 1 would have been plenty.
I appreciate the talent and dedication of the circus performers who dedicate their life to their craft, however this simplified version of the circus was lacking in the pageantry and drama that I expect from Ringling Brothers. Expecting the grandeur of the three ring circus that i have seen at the same venue, I was disappointed so see this one ring simplified version. With a single clown (whose subdued clothing and act was a snooze) no trapeze act or roaring lion, this event was more side show than circus. i will carefully research upcoming shows and ensure that I am attending the circus that I grew up with the next time I purchase a pricey ticket from Ringling Brothers.
Had 2 toddlers that fell asleep through the show. Was so unhappy with the show I would NEVER spend the money to go to another one. How sad we spent money for 6 tickets and not one of us had a good time. The shows did not keep your attention. At one point felt like we were watching Dancing with The Stars because there was more dancing than performing acts. The acts were too long and there were no clowns.
Although it was a 2 hour show with a very talented cast, I can not believe how small this circus has gotten. I have been going every year for the last 10 years and I am greatly disappointed and so was my godchild. Who ever heard of a circus with 1 - 1/2 clowns... one with make up and one without? Animals? Really ? 2 elephants? A few ponies, dogs and 2 camels? Where are the lions, tigers, and bears? Even the motorcycle spiral was lamer this year. I know we are in a recession but people want to be entertained. This circus needs to go back to the old days. Clowns all over the place with 3 rings and all types of animals... not just acrobats and strong men! Oh yeah and the water glass thing... way to long!
