Recking Park is an intimate venue to watch a game. Jose Cruz JR is turning the corner on revitalizing the Owls. This 13-8 victory over a good UTSA showed a more aggressive and potent Owl offense.
A fantastic atmosphere. Having Jose Cruz Jr. there made it extra special.
Had a great time and was a good game in an awesome environment
Reckling Park and Rice Baseball continue to provide a great experience for families. I would have given 4 stars until I discovered the SEATZ app and had food delivered to my seats!
Venue was nice and game fun but getting to the stadium on weekday evening was horrible. As well the school funneled all vehicles into one entry and had blocked off many entry points to stadium parking. After the game I exited a three lane point that was blocked from entry at the start of game. Despite leaving more than 1 hour before game time I arrived at the end of inning 2. And had to wait to long for food and drink. Just too much wasted time. Would only consider returning on a weekend game.
We had an amazing time at the game! I took my 11 year old son and two of his friends. They had a blast. The team played well and the stadium was impeccable.
A beautiful stadium of high minor league quality and quality baseball. Rice University gets extra credit for calling AND leaving me an email when the starting time changed due to weather concerns. First rate operation.
I find Rice Owls baseball very entertaining and played at a high level ever since Wayne Graham took over the program long, long ago. However, this first game to start the season had the opposing Arizona Wildcats seizing momentum from the first pitch en route to an easy 8-1 win over the mistake-prone Owls. It is rare indeed when Rice fails to mount a rally after falling behind at home but Arizona had complete control of this one. Credit UA!
Nothing like a perfect spring err late Houston winter evening at Reckling Field with the renowned Texas Medical Center as the backdrop. We had 5th row behind home plate seats while our teens sat on "the hill" - all for around $50! The Owls didn't pull off a win but it was a fabulous evening. Great way to take advantage of this incredible in our backyard university. Take your kids and give them a glimpse of college life.
