About

“The time has come…there’s no escape”

Legendary Swedish hardcore punks, Refused will return to Australia in January 2017 along with hardcore icons Sick Of It All (celebrating their 30th anniversary) and High Tension!

In 1998 a boundary exploding album was released that has since been elevated to all-time legendary status…’The Shape Of Punk To Come’. Their iconic status grew exponentially in the ensuing years, the band casting a giant shadow over the world of underground rock as they post-humously influenced a new generation of musical revolutionaries.

Refused reformed 14 years later in 2012 to a slew of sold out dates across the globe (including Australia) and this led to the release of their first new album in 17 years titled Freedom in June 2015. Freedom explodes with opening track Elektra, as front man Dennis Lyxzen’s throat-shredding declaration that “nothing has changed” catapulted Refused into the 21st century.

“It’s not a reunion anymore,” Lyxzen insists. “This is one of the most radical things we’ve ever done, both musically and lyrically.” “A thrilling, challenging, life-affirming rollercoaster of a record”. Kerrang

Adding to the volatility of this tour are New York hardcore titans, Sick Of It All. The band are celebrating 30 years together in 2016 and are as potent and focused than ever. With the Koller brothers leading the charge and their latest album 2014’s The Last Act of Defiance bringing exactly what their fans expect. Gang shout outs galore, teeth knocking street anthems, breakdown and break neck pace setting and a directive to their fans to stay hard and fight the power NYHC style!

Opening for these two legendary acts will be Melbourne noise makers, High Tension. Led by the formidable and volatile Karina Utomo, the Aria nominated band throw everything in the mix from Kyuss groove to Refused’s assault leaving audiences exhilarated and in awe of what they just witness.

A better start to the night, you will not find!

    Refused Freedom

by Notacommy on 6/15/16Revolution Live - Ft Lauderdale

The venue was perfect for total enjoyment of this genre of music. It was clean, safe and had the perfect crowd except for the one-eyed gentleman that tried to force a mosh pit and ended up getting moshed and ejected. He deserved what he got because he spilled half of a $12 beer on me. That was the only low point. I didn't like The Lolly pops or whatever the chick band called themselves. Refused was fantastic but I could have done without his opinion of our political system. They should have used that time playing music instead of complaining about something that is none of their business. I paid to see them perform. Who cares about their pseudo communist opinions.

    The Refused are Insane!!!!!

by Stephb123 on 11/7/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

It was so amazing! They melted my face off. The Bronx, who opened were an explosive start to the chaos the ensued once the Refused took the stage. They were so tight. The precision and energy was incredible. One of the best shows I have ever seen. One of the great front men, pulling shapes! If you missed it, you lost out.

by KjpunkOC on 11/7/12The Fonda Theatre - Hollywood

This show was insane. I've been to hundreds of shows and this went straight to the top. Both bands were amazing and The Fonda is my new favorite LA venue.

    Refused Rocked!

by DragQueenWillie on 9/9/12Bill Graham Civic Auditorium - San Francisco

I thought Refused put on an amazing, high energy show. I'm a little surprised they didn't play longer, but they played a lot of songs. I wish I could have seen Sleigh Bells too, but i got there too late

    worth the wait

by VoiceofVice on 9/4/12Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Missed them when they came around in April but so glad I caught them the second time around. I would've rather seen them play with the Bronx like they did the first time but I was also pleasantly surprised by Sleigh Bells.
