    BIG TIME RUSH ROCKED IT

by cobians on 2/21/12Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Even though we waited through 6 hours in 110 degress it was THE most amazing concert me, my friends, AND family have been to! Big time rush rocked the house and the most magical thing was when they came out the fireworks started. The night was increadibly fun and the worth was very worth it! I loved everyminute of this even though most of the opening acts werent known we still had an awesome time!

Red, White and Boom was horrible!

by Mommawithteens on 8/11/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

Concert was said to start at 4PM. Local talent performed until 10PM. The temperature was 108 degrees--and the organizers kept preteens out there in that heat for six hours waiting for the groups advertised as playing at the concert. We finally had to give up and come home. What a gigantic waste of time and money. We won't be suckered again.

Big Time Rush waited too long to play!

by HotMomma22 on 8/1/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The gates opened at 4:00, the show did not start until 6:00, and Big Time Rush did not get on stage until after 9:00. We sat for 5 hours in 100 degree weather and no shade before we even got to see Big Time Rush. There were many small children present, which the promoter should have known. The wait time was completely ridiculous, especially considering the weather that day. The time between opening acts was at least 45 minutes, for no reason I could see (no real stage or set up for them).

Most awful event I have ever attended, artists, promotors had zero respect for audience members. Time in between performers was ridiculous. I will never attend another show promoted by mix 93.3.

Red, White, and Boom was amazing!

by Rashin on 7/30/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

I very much enjoyed the concert! The only thing I would say is that the set changes could have been conducted better. It took an hour between each set change, and after a while, the songs that the DJ played became very repetitive. Other than that, the singers themselves were AMAZING! Everyone performed so greatly.

    Could have been better

by KaylaMCq on 7/28/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

I thought all the acts were good. But as soon as big time rush came on the stage everbody stood up on the stands, which we were told over and over we were not allowed to do. And my little sister couldn't see BTR so 3 songs in she decided she wanted to go. So it was a waste of money (for me). It was just me and her there together and people including the workers were very rude to us. The heat didn't help either.

    poorly presented

by mdramsey on 7/28/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

I guess I assumed this was going to be a family event. The only chance ;you had of being able to see the stage was if you were to sit there for 4 hrs in the 100degree temps, with children who dont want to sit still. The stage was so far down you couldnt even see the tops of the performers heads from the top of a hill! There was no water available and I was a little upset to pay $9 for 2 bottles of water. The fireworks display took place behind the entire arena and in the middle of the BTR performance. So in order to see the fireworks, you had to turn your back to the stage you couldnt see and attempt to see fireworks through huge trees, so not only could you not see the stage, but you couldnt see the fireworks either. There were long periods between performers with nothing to entertain the kids and BTR started 45 min late. I will never go to another 93.3 event because they seem to care more about money than people. BTR is amazing and they deserved better than that, so did my son whose birthday present was getting to see his favorite band perform. Needless to say, he just got to hear them, not see them.

    Big Time Disappointment

by Banaducci on 7/27/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

I was so excited to take my daughter to see Big Time Rush. They played in KC at Worlds of Fun, outdoor amphitheater. The tickets said "4:00" as the concert time. We lined up at 3:30 because it was general admission. They took our tickets as we walked in, thus taking away our ability to leave and come back. There were 4 opening acts...however NO ONE starting playing until almost 6:00. A DJ was playing music in the mean time, however it was 100 degrees and there were lots of excited kids looking forward to seeing Big Time Rush. Between opening acts, more DJ music. Long story short, it was almost 10:00 pm before Big Time Rush started their performance. By that time, most children, including my daughter, had lost their patience, enthusiasm, and were worn out from the heat. Of course there was food, drinks and water all being sold at outrageous prices, and what choice did parents have...let their children starve and dehydrate when it was 100 degrees out? When BTR did take the stage, even though we had repeatedly been asked by event staff not to stand on the benches, of course the older kids/young adults all jumped up onto the benches, making it impossible to see what was going on. After waiting 6 hours to see them, my daughter couldn't see the concert and we elected to go back to the amusement park to get in a couple of rides before the park closed since we had unexpectedly been trapped for 6 hours in the amphitheater. Of course we could have left at any time but would not have been able to get back in. A simple sign could have prevented this disappointment by letting parents know what time BTR was actually going to play. NO ONE expected it to be 10:00 when the tickets said 4:00. Not to mention the first 2 wasted hours where NOTHING HAPPENED. Don't get me wrong, we still love BTR...but everything about this concert was handled very poorly. We are not the only ones at the concert that could not believe how long we were made to wait.

    Great idea!

by MamaBofNE on 7/27/11Worlds of Fun - Kansas City

The Red, White, and Boom concert event was a fantastic idea - enjoyable artists and venue; however, there needed to be some crowd control. One young gentleman came through the crowd twice telling observers to get off the benches and they did...until he was out of sight. For those of us who require our children to follow directives, they could see absolutely NOTHING during the entire event. Finally, we moved to the fence and stood where we could see some of the Big Time Rush concert.
