    Too much toilet non-humor

by disenthralled on 3/23/13Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I was very disappointed in Thursday night's performance by UCB. I had never seen them before, and if this was a typical performance, I would not see them again. I came mainly to see Rachel, but was curious about the Improv. Rachel was great, when she got a chance to perform. The others, especially Horatio and the woman with the short hair and large stature, were really overbearing. The interview with the college student was way too long and not that interesting. The unending focus on poop and the skit about a slutty mother wanting sex with her sons, was just too much to bear. If that's the only way they can be funny, then their humor is really lacking and not very intelligent. It's too bad they kept drowning out Rachel. I know she tried to get some good humor going, but the others kept butting in. Sorry you had to deal with them, Rachel.

The show was absolutely hilarious! I only wish I was seated closer, so they could hear our shout-outs.

    Funny as hell!

by WooHooBoo on 3/23/13Wilbur Theatre - Boston

This show had me laughing all night. They interviewed a local college student which then based their later improv. It was a great night with many laughs. Loved it.

    Hilarious!!

    by rgag86 on 3/23/13Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I'd never been to a professional improv show before so I was pleasantly surprised at how smoothly they transitioned between sketches. I went in only knowing who Rachel Dratch and Horatio Sanz were (which as a huge SNL fan it was a dream seeing them work together), but came out as a fan of Shannon O'Neill, Fran Gillepsie and Michael Delaney as well. Every one was brilliant and hilarious in their own way. Definitely see a UCB show if you get a chance!

    Hysterical Evening of Improv

by WhinyMcGee on 3/23/13Wilbur Theatre - Boston

I have to admit that I'm not the biggest fan of Improv, as it tends to be hit and miss when it comes to laughs, but Horatio Sanz, Rachel Dratch, and the rest of the improv group (Fran Gillespie, Shannon O'Neill and Michael Delaney) were true professionals with great timing. The only part where I thought the show sagged a bit was when they brought an audience member up on stage for an "interview". I realize they were trying to get material for later onin the show, but it seemed to go on too long (and the audience member who volunteered herself seemed a bit self-centered). Also, as previously mentioned, it is an Improv team, so if you were looking for a show with only Horatio Sanz and Rachel Dratch, you might be a bit disappointed.
