    A Fantastic Show!!

by Mzcyberella on 11/3/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

I took my husband for his birthday, and I think I enjoyed the show more than he did!! Con Funk Shun Was fantastic, I wish they had stayed on a LITTLE bit longer. I had never saw the S.O.S Band before; but if I get the chance, I will. The love of my life, MORRIS DAY, was spectacular! I saw him at the Regal before they closed it, and everytime I see him, the shows are more and fantastic. I LOVED the whole show.

I have never been so disappointed after leaving a concert. All three groups could have been better. One disappointment was the sound effects were terrible. Some of the mikes had very little sound. After ConFunShun and the S.O. S. Band did next to nothing to get and keep my attention, I was so looking forward to seeing Morris Day and the Thyme. I have seen Morris 2 times for free and he was very entertaining. Both of the free shows were just great. And then I pay $65.00 for myself and another $65.00 as a gift for a friend, and he was a big let down. Never again will I pay to see either one of the groups.

I've always loved these groups and to see these three together was a real treat. Some of the songs I hadn't heard in a long time but they brought back so many good memories for me. I can't wait to see them NEXT YEAR!!! (Hint)

    SOUND

by roslind on 11/1/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

The sound system wasn't working very well at all. I would have gotten better quality of sound on my car radio. T shirts were givin out for people in the front but none in the back

    High cost short set

by longdrive4nothing on 10/31/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

I drove from wisconsin to chicago for this event. The sets for each band were short. I've never been to a three hour concert. They didn't sale programs or shirts. Nothing but alcohol.

R&B Explosion was great, Production Weak!!!

by InfiniteMusicFan on 10/31/10Arie Crown Theater - Chicago

All the acts were great - but the production value sucked. People walking back and forth across the stage who had nothing to do with the performance. Rushed performers who didn't get the time they needed to do their thing, and wandering photographers - there for the performers perhaps, but getting in the way of my $60 a seat performance. Needed more funk from The Time. Sounded great but not one long (10:00 and over) super set. Time crunch was awful.

Con Funk Shun was good although their time was short. Wanted to hear more. SOS band still got it! Morris Day & The Time had it going on even wit Jerome not there. People dancing in the aisles & their seats. Awesome! Awesome!
