Put the Nuns In Charge Tickets

Nun skillfully involved audience members without being threatening. Kept everyone laughing. A good time.

Wonderful time. Told my sister-in-law to take all her friends for a girls night out. If you ever went to a strict school you will be flooded with memories and laughter. On the spot stand up at its best.

This show was great! Haven't laughed so hard in quite a while and we all need that. Small venue so everyone was up close and "Mother Superior" was close and personal! My husband and I enjoyed it as well as our son. Would like to go another version (Late Night Catechism) or the Christmas one.

A funny, clean satire on life in the church, especially catholic school. Small, intimate setting. Great interactiion between 'the nun' and her crowd. Sister did a great job of remember our names, occupations, even phone passwords (had to be there), and used all this info well in making the performance even more funny.

"Put the Nuns in Charge" was a very enjoyable evening. Our group was small so sister was able to ask most everyone some questions. Being Catholic was a help, but the Methodist minister in attendance, also seem to have avoid time. Very enjoyable.

Pretty unique event. Very small, very intimate. Acting is superb. Lots of audience participation. Very enjoyable!

I do not remember when was the last time I left a performance; I am the most polite audience member possible. However,"Put the Nuns in Charge" was the worst theatre experience I have ever had. Chicago is a major theatre city, and I thought with all the abundance of talent and ingenuity, one cannot possibly go wrong at any play, especially at a well-established venue such as the Royal George Theater. How wrong was I! The description of this show was quite murky; I did not understand what it was about, but it was listed under the section for Theatre: Drama/Comedy, not under Improv. So, I went hoping to be an audience, not a participant. A small room with uncomfortable chairs, was my first impression. The first half began. An actress dressed as a nun entered and immediately addressed the audience. She asked everybody about their name, job, and faith; put a vaguely humorous spin on the responses she gathered; made a few remarks about the decency of clothing around the room; and enumerated the seven deadly sins. All right... I thought, a gimmick to make us feel as if we were children at a Catholic school. What next? Nothing. This was it. There seemed to be no script, no point of interest. A few lines of lame monologue. A couple of good natured Catholic jokes with no bite. A mini-history lesson on indulgences and telling the Lutherans in the audience that they would go to Purgatory. A company meeting would have been more entertaining. Did I just wasted my Friday night on THAT! I left at intermission (told you I was polite) very, very disappointed and upset; so upset, in fact, that I did not even think to ask for my money back. Now, I am on my vacation and have time, but if I were a hard-working person, who just sacrificed the precious weekend night to see this regrettable THING, I would have been ready to execute violence.

Although the theatre space was somewhat shoddy, the one person show (2 if you count the audience) was very well done. It was interactive, requiring the actress to think and joke on her feet. She truly knew her craft.

I expected to have more people on stage then just the one. The setting and plot was was what I did expect, though not very funny. I do respect the talent and effort of the performance. There were twenty people in attendance and four of them left at intermission and did not return. Again I thought the performance would have been hilardious, but it far from that.

Very few people in the audience which made it seem a little uncomfortable. The actress was very quick witted and played the part good. However it was not quit as funny as I thought it would be.
