    Good old-time fun

by Street Singer John on 11/29/22Town Hall - New York

My hearing is not great so I missed the words of the funny songs and some of the skits. The closing monologue was the best. The intermission break, in which the audience stood and sang along with old patriotic songs, was deeply moving; I couldn't sing for crying. The band was fabulous but not really my thing, was that part of Prairie Home Companion? Did it have to be three hours long? Two hours would have been fine.

    Just ok

by Cupcake on 11/29/22Town Hall - New York

The show was a little too long, with to much spot light on the singer Heather. The seats need to be replaced, very uncomfortable!!

    Garrison Returns!

by Richard on 11/29/22Town Hall - New York

After a many-year pandemic driven absence, Garrison Keillor returned to Town Hall with his cast and musicians from his A Prairie Home Companion show to entertain his fans with three hours of songs, stories, and a clear demonstration that he has, at 80 years young, not lost his touch to entertain an audience. Bravo Garrison! Richard Bock

    Prairie Home Companion Redux

by hdtvpete on 11/29/22Town Hall - New York

Although Garrison is getting up there in age, he still put on a great show. Rob Fischer's band was top-notch and it was great to hear Sue Scott and Tim Russell again, along with Fred Newman's sound effects. Heather Masse and Christine DiGiollonardo are amazing singers. It was just like old times...except the show started later (7:30) and ran for 3 hours! That was a bit much for us - the audience participation sing-along wasn't really necessary (Garrison used to do it before the radio show). It would have been a better experience if audience members directly behind and next to us would shut up and stop playing with their phones (ironically during a song lambasting audience members for doing exactly that!)

Like children in Lake Wobegon, Above Average (by a lot)

by Doug on 11/29/22Town Hall - New York

Exceeded every expectation, highly recommended and a once-in-a-lifetime experience that you must see. Those who have only seen the movie and not the regular show in the past - watch at least one of the YouTube 2-hr broadcast episode recordings from 2014-2016 so you can enjoy the real show in its full glory again without being poisoned by expectations inserted by Hollywood into the movie that diverge from real life - and in this case real life is better than the movie :)

    Awful!

by Jojo on 11/29/22Town Hall - New York

We used to be fans of the radio show and looked forward to when it came to NYC at the Town Hall. Funny, great guests….this was none of that…terrible, boring…we left at intermission

    Pretty good

by Brooklyn reviewer on 11/29/22Town Hall - New York

As a long-term PHC fan, I am not sure what I was expecting after so many years without it. Much of it was good, and some of the comedy bits were a lot of fun, but some of it seemed tired and I guess that we all are getting along in years. I have easily been to 10-15 of these live shows over the years and many of them have been great. This one was for me a few steps below but well worth going to.
