    Mind Blown

by Eeds on 6/20/13Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I've been waiting to see Portishead live for about 14 years haha. When I heard they will be coming to NY I went ballistic. I lived in FL at the time so bought a plane ticket to NY and bought the portishead tickets the second they went on sale. They were so amazing I can not say enough good things about the greatness of Beth and Portishead. Thank you! thank you! I am a true portishead fan and was not disappointed as I knew they would deliver a spectacular performance. The venue was perfect as well.

Beth Gibbons voice is amazing. Such a soulful voice. The rest of the band were great! Sound was wonderful. And their backdrop videos really added to the mood. I loved the Rip video. Its such a treat to see an great band perform beyond anything I imagined. Even convinced some new friends in town to see them before ever hearing them and they loved it!!! Please, god, let them tour again and soon.

    Best Birthday Present!

by Bruja1313 on 3/17/12The Shrine Expo Center - Los Angeles

I found out just by pure luck that they were playing. And on my birthday! I didn't want anything else. They did not disappoint. Perfection. Front row view of everything. Crowd was hypnotized. Then Beth jumped off stage and shook hands with the whole front row. She was awesome. I was so happy. Best concert of 2011! Love the Shrine too.

Portishead, It couldn't have been sweeter!

by Irmie on 1/4/12Shrine Expo Center - Los Angeles

I saw Portishead in 1997 at the Hollywood Palladium and that show was awesome. Again, at this show they didn't disappoint. Beth's voice was untouchable and sounded beautiful. The whole atmosphere and stage set up was unspeakable and collaborated well with each song performed. It was blind luck that I happen to find out they were touring. This was a birthday present for my best friend who I originally went to see Portishead with the first time. Boy, was she blown away when she saw this ticket. Great, amazing and awesome performance. This is for Andy, so happy we got to share this show together.

    Portishead was Amazing!

by LapisLisa on 11/15/11Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

Portishead was Amazing! I'm so happy to have had the chance to see them! The Hammerstein Ballroom is a wonderful place to see a show. There really isn't a bad seat in the house. If I had to complain about something it would be the levels of the speakers in the balcony. Other than that it was a great night.

Definitely in the top 5 concerts I've ever been to

by ScarlettRed on 11/10/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

Portishead sounded incredible. For not having toured in 14 years, they sounded like they must practice constantly. They were beyond perfect. I enjoyed every minute of it.

Amazing! This band is so emotionally moving and seeing them Live for the first time was everything I hoped for. They played all my favorites and some new ones, too. The venue was small enough and not too crowded.

    An elequent show.

    by Water730 on 11/9/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

I had a hard time really digging the opening band, seemed like the kind of tonal experimental tapestries that I used to play with on LSD in community college. Long held notes and vocals and textural touch therapy for the brain. Portishead though, were a class act, fascinating ochestration of multilevel aural landscapes that with the spectacular visual stories on the backdrop behind the band was a wonderful scene. The venue at WAMU theatre was pretty amazing for a large venue. Very cool, never been there before so I was impressed.

    Portishead is UH-mayzing.

    by DCFC4Bremerton on 11/7/11WaMu Theater - Seattle

I liked Portishead before, but after seeing them live, I'm completely in love with Beth Gibbons. This band can rock it and they play a fair mix of new and old stuff. Love it.

    Portishead: Now, Always, Forever

by Grandier on 11/3/11Manhattan Center Hammerstein Ballroom - New York

I've been fortunate enough to witness Portishead four times, and Beth Gibbons side project with Rustin' Man. My first Portishead show at at the Supper Club in Manhattan. We had a table right in front of Beth on the floor. Intimate and astonishing. When I saw them next they performed their Roseland 1997 show, and I ended up in six seconds of Super 8 footage, nodding my head at around the one-minute mark during Elysium. Now I was able to see them with enormous video screens and amazingly in such a large space, Beth's voice and Adrian's music and Geoff's beats combined into a soul-chilling onslaught of negative emotion and striving for humanness. The audience talked much less than the normal New York audience (save for one texting loser behind me). Portishead: Now, Always, Forever.
