It was really good! I just wish they would have done more stories instead of just 2 and 2 poems. I really enjoyed and am excited to go again next year.

Rating: 4 out of 5by Anonymous on 11/2/13Powel Crosley Estate - Bradenton Rating: 3 out of 5 Poe at the Crosley not quite as advertised
by Glambrarian on 10/30/13Powel Crosley Estate - BradentonThis was pleasant but didn't quite live up to expectations. It was nice to hear some less well-known Poe poems, but a Halloween without The Raven is like Thanksgiving without its turkey. The actors were great, however - very entertaining and responded well to the audience, (including one member who clearly had some issues with impulse control) and their interpretations of the material were compelling. The carriage house and its decorations were awful. I can't be any kinder than that. Each room was "decorated" in a theme related to a Poe story or poem, but it was very amateurish and came across like an extended visual aid for a high school research paper. For $20 per ticket, plus Ticketmaster's exorbitant surcharges of $7.50 per ticket, I really wanted a better hour's experience.
