Awesome venue...historic value, priceless!! The number of talents musicians onstage all night was amazing!! Killer setlist!! Great energy!! Cant stop loving phil!!
Just an outstanding performance by Phil, his son and the magnificent Midnight Ramble Band! Strong performances of Grateful Dead classics including a Brokedown Palace in the middle of set I🌹and a few classics from the Band (Olphelia, Chest Fever) thrown in.
I only found out about this show 3 days prior. Was not much in the mood for going out, especially as I'd already seen Phil in June. However, when I learned it included many of the players from Levon Helm's legendary barn parties this show became vital. And it did not disappoint. My music motto is: everything's better with horns. Highlights included Unbroken Chain, Shakedown Street, The Weight, Ophelia, The Genetic Method, Rubin & Cherise and Brokedown Palace (w/ fiddle). Lots of dancing space, kind people, weird scene - exactly the way I want it. In my Bethel Woods survey, I couldn't come up with a single gripe. Well, the food prices, but I don't imagine that will change. One always has a choice. Eat before you arrive or pay the price. Only music downside were four repeats I heard him play in June. Though this is not a big deal as I like all those songs.
Phil and friends along side Amy Helm, Larry Campbell, Theresa Williams and company put on an explosive high energy masterful musical performance! We were on our feet cheering and rockin' the night away! Theresa belted out a rendition of the Tina Turner classic River Deep Mtn High for the ages! The entire ensemble was on top of their game as Phil so gracefully made Larry the evenings maestro guiding a magnificent performance!
This show was one of my top 5 and I’ve seen a lot of dead shows/other artists. The venue, sound and accommodations were great. The Midnight Ramble Band and Phil rocked it. They were pure perfection!
Saw Phil & Friends in Bridgeport last month with Warren Haynes. So enjoyable we decided to journey to Bethel to see Phil again. The deal sealer was The Ramble Band. We are big fans of Amy Helm, Larry Campbell and Teresa Williams and The Weight Band having seen them many times. We thought The Ramble Band would open, but no, both bands played together the whole show. 13 people on stage, double drums, double keyboards, 3 horns, 3 guitarists sometimes 4, multiple vocalists (six I think). Great selection of songs from the Dead catalogue and The Band song book. When things couldn’t get any better the combined bands played River Deep Mountain High to close the second set. They blew the roof off the shed with that one! Teresa And Amy were on fire. Tina Turner would have been proud.
Once again Phil Lesh delivers another 5 star performance! Along with Larry Campbell, Theresa Williams, Amy Helm, Grahame Lesh and the Midnight Ramble Band he exceeded expectations. Phil is like a fine wine getting better with age! Bethel Woods Center for the Performing Arts is an incredible gem! Shout out to Connor Kennedy who layed down some beautiful psychedelic riffs! Thanks Phil for keeping the Grateful Spirit alive!
The venue was amazing and clean. Show was fantastic. 14 band members and played the hits.
Fantastic band on a beautiful night, with the legendary Phil Lesh and many other excellent musicians. Thanks, Phil! Bethel Woods is beautuful! Peace...
