    Peter Nero, A Brilliant Artist

by GlenMama on 11/17/15Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

Unfathomable that so much incredible music can be created by one man on one Steinway! Thanks to the brilliant Gershwin and Steinway, he had great material to work with...but I felt it was a gift to me, just to experience this performance. Michael Barnett as bassist added depth, of course, and Katherine Strohmaier with her beautiful voice and charming personality added immensely to the program, lightheartedly gave us the timeless Gershwin lyrics!

    Peter Nero still incredible

by Wawasteve on 4/13/14Missouri Theatre Columbia - Columbia

He is a master or Gershwin, but for those old enough he could make Slow Boat to China very special. Amazing he is still touring.

    Sound! What? Can't hear you!

    by 73gk on 2/14/14Sottile Theatre - Charleston

The sound for this event was horrible. Talent was superb. Nero's humor was evident from the bits I understood.

    Not bad.

by MikeHock on 2/11/14Ohio Theatre - Columbus

Orchestra was great. Peter is a bit long in the tooth, but he still bangs out a pretty good piano for being 79. A few clunkers in someone to watch over me, but overall a good show.

Such talent, a very memorable performance. Entertaining from the pre-show conversation till the encore set. Thank you Peter Nero, bassist Michael Barnett and drummer Steve Houghton!!!

    Peter's unbelievably stong left hand

by bwatson4 on 11/7/11Folly Theater - Kansas City

I play the piano so I was impressed with Peter's ability to play with a light touch with great feeling and also to strike the keyboard with great strength particularly with his left hand which is not the case in my playing, regrettably. The West Side Story medley was unforgettable.

    Hail The Conquering Nero!!

by Twingrands on 11/7/11Folly Theater - Kansas City

Peter Nero remains the most exciting and innovative pianist of our time. Once blessed with his prodigous Julliard training, twice blessed incorporating that in to popular fare and triple blessed for his jazz infusion!!! A master craftsman of his trade. From the haunting strains of "A Boy Like That" to the rolling thunderous bass lines of "Take The 'A' Train" ... the entire evening was shear NERO magic!!! Hope you have him back next season!!!

    Peter Nero

by MelindaJane on 11/7/11Folly Theater - Kansas City

Exceptional performance. A wonderful evening. His playing was as strong and vibrant as it was in the 60s. We were so very glad we went,
