    Paul Potts, An Amazing Voice

by Auke on 4/18/11The Colosseum at Caesars Windsor - Windsor

My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. I am a big fan of classical music and opera and Paul Potts did not disappoint me. I wasn't as impressed with his guest female singer , however I did enjoy their duet. I would definitely go and hear Paul again.

    Paul Potts Performance Truly Unforgettable

by cheeringyouon on 10/19/09Edinburgh Playhouse - Edinburgh, Scotland

We went from the States to see Paul in Edinburgh, Scotland. We were not sorry we did. There is nothing that you can see on YouTube or hear on his albums that prepares you for the unique sweetness of his voice. I heard a couple of notes that were not true but I have heard that from Andrea Bocelli, and others as well. And there were very, very few. What makes his voice special is the unique sound he produces, the kind of sound that just gives you chills all over. And he clearly works incredibly hard, relentlessly to deliver the best performance he can. He is clearly a person who feels very deeply and he speaks to his audience in a way that lets you see that....the degree to which he was moved by the translation of Che Gelida Manina from La Boheme, how he was touched by Carreras and Lanza, how various pieces and performers have made him feel. You just can feel that there is no artifice about this man as a person or as a performer, he is very genuine. And that voice--you truly wish the performance would just never end. His musicians delivered for him, as did Elizabeth Marvelly, his support singer. I hope Paul comes back to America soon, but I have not seen any indication of a plan to do that. The performance is simply sensational.

    The Amazing Paul Potts

by CarolewithanE on 7/28/09Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

What does a former rock and roll tour manager say about a classical tenor who won a reality show (the first Britain's Got Talent ) in 2007? In the two years since his victory on that show, Paul Potts has rounded the globe six times, sold almost four million copies of his first CD, "One Chance," won the German equivalent of a Grammy, been the toast of Europe, the Far East, Australia, New Zealand & Canada ("One Chance" being certified platinum many times over in all those countries), embarked on a seemingly endless tour, sang for the Queen of England, and managed to fit in appearances on Ellen, Oprah & countless television gigs across the world. In the midst of it all, Paul Potts has managed to record a second album, the beautiful, well-crafted "Passione", and embarked on his new tour and seventh circumnavigation of Planet Earth. When he landed at the Rosemont Theatre July 20th, the assemblage paid homage to the British tenor - loudly and fervently. The show, a generous two and a half hours long, revealed how hard Paul Potts has worked these last two years since the victory on BGT. On the surface at least, he appears to be supremely confident in his vocal abilities, without losing the everyman appeal with which he began. From the opening song, an Italian interpretation of Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," through "Memory", "Caruso" and a Mario Lanza medley, a song dedicted to his wife, Julz - "I'm Yours" and a song written for him, "Bellamore" from "Passione," Pott's amazingly strong and clear tenor, with a tone all its own, ended the show with "Time To Say Goodbye" and the inevitable "Nessun Dorma." When he finished, a 10-minute standing ovation ensued and he more or less exited the stage bowing as he went. The sentiment seemed to be "Hey, Paul! Do it all again!" Paul Potts, who was not exactly chopped liver when he won BGT two years ago has, nevertheless, improved in voice and confidence and presentation and yet managed to remain the same talented, lovable klutz we went nuts over at the beginning. Though his audience is mostly middle-aged females such as myself, a brother, two teenage nieces into music other than classical and several males of various ages shanghaied for the occasion, all said the same thing - this guy is unbelievable/when's he coming back? - and from the nieces: Wow! And out in the lobby after the show, Paul Potts signed programs, CD's, and met the adoring multitudes. While theatre staff were, no doubt, checking their watches, Pottsmaniacs adored up close. It was, all in all, an evening to remember and as much as I hate to admit it, it beat the hell out of the Rolling Stones.

Paul Potts has a beautiful voice

by FloridaBuckeye on 7/27/09Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Paul Potts, the 2008 winner of "Britain's Got Talent" certainly demonstrated his talent in a concert near Chicago. His voice was clear and true, his phasing excellent, and he demonstrated the value of years of training in his performance. He has a glorious voice that outshines Bocelli. Despite his reputation as a novice performer, it is clear that Potts worked for many years to develop his singing instrument, and the TV show just gave him the break that he needed to become noticed. He is not a polished entertainer - his patter between songs was a bit stilted and his attempts at humor sometimes failed. But when he sang, all was forgiven. He finished with Nessum Dorma, the brief aria from La Boheme, to a standing ovation. A glorious end to a beautiful concert. Potts' "friends" were less impressive, particularly Neal E Boyd from "America's Got Talent", who was frequently off-key and finished with the worst performance of "God Bless the USA" that I've ever heard.

Paul Potts is a true talent!

by sdsdad on 7/25/09Nokia Theatre At Grand Prairie - Grand Prairie

We were delighted to see that the Paul Potts that we saw on numerous YouTube clips was the same guy who showed up for his first Dallas-area concert! He has even learned some stage presence along the way... the stories and comments he shared provided another glimpse of this regular, yet incredibly talented man's life. We do wish that Jules, his wife, had been there too. We will most definitely plan on attending the next time Paul's in town... the experience was a real treat!

    Paul Potts was Fantastic!

    by embs12 on 7/24/09Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Paul has a BEAUTIFUL voice! He has worked hard on developing his craft in the past two years. Paul has a rare gift - he takes the audience with him when he sings, so that we set aside our other thoughts and experience the music. His singing is engaging, compelling. This was a memorable performance. BRAVO, Paul!! I also enjoyed Diane diStasio's performance, especially the first and last songs that she sang, plus Brindisi, which she sang with Paul. Neal E Boyd's performance of God Bless the USA was a guaranteed crowd pleaser.

This gentleman is fantastic! Knowing his background makes his performance even more phenomenal. He has a beautiful voice, is very knowledgeable about opera, has a great sense of humor. He proves that a regular guy can do amazing things. I ended up ordering both of his CDs. We definitely recommend seeing him!

    Paul Potts was magical

by fitzwest on 7/24/09Rosemont Theatre - Rosemont

Paul is the most generous, humble, sincere artist I have ever seen. He gives 100% each time he performs and then takes time to spend with his fans after the concert. His voice is powerful on his cd's but it is mesmerizing in person. I could listen to him over and over and over in person; now I have to just listen to the cd. An unforgettable evening.
