Ever since the release of their 2008 EP Chunk of Change, Passion Pit’s unique brand of indietronica has appealed to fans of both indie rock and electronic dance music, generating heaps of praise from those bastions of hipster cred otherwise known as music blogs. With the release of sophomore album Gossamer in 2012, the band kept crowds moving with a collection of ambitious and impeccably produced gems like “Take a Walk” and “Constant Conversations,” earning the album a No. 4 position on the Billboard 200. Passion Pit originated as the solo project of frontman Michael Angelakos, who penned the project’s first songs for his girlfriend before enlisting some of his classmates from Berklee College of Music to start a group. The band’s debut full-length Manners (2009) received praise from critics and bloggers for its catchy and danceable songs, including breakthrough single “Sleepyhead” and kaleidoscopic electro hit “The Reeling.” On tour in 2013, Passion Pit has been treating fans to high-octane live performances that perfectly capture the spirit of their sparkling pop anthems.
Not only was the venue amazing but the show was a sight to see.
I had a great time at the concert- the venue was by far the best I have been to a show at in NYC!
Passion Pit was absolutely amazing concert. I and my son loved every minute of it. The venue was amazing and the show was amazing!
You can tell they were truly passionate to play and the venue was amazing
Passion Pit was fantastic! Even the opening band The Beaches were great! That's the first opening band that I really enjoyed. The venue was perfect and the energy was great! Passion Pit kept us hyped from start to finish. I do wish they played a few more numbers since it seemed short, but other than that it was a wonderful show. I really hope they tour again in the future!
High energy and on his birthday, Michael and the rest of Passion Pit was fantastic! I missed a few of my fave songs from Chunk of Change but overall a great setlist. I wish it could have been longer!
Passion Pit is always a great time. Such great energy they absolutely killed it. What made this a magical night was the venue. Pier 17 is a dream venue with an amazing view, perfect layout, and just enough space.
Venue was amazing!! Passion Pit was awesome!! Love the Filmore!
Passion Pit never fails to put on a good show! This the fourth time I’ve seen them live and I intend to keep going to their concerts. They just came out with a new album, Tremendous Sea of Love, but they played a bunch of their hits, in with some newer songs and I love it when artist do that for their fans. The opener, courtship. was great too!
This show was amazing. The light show was pretty, Michael has great stage presence, and his vocals and music sounded amazing live! At this show they played all of their hits. I would highly recommend seeing them live. I definitely will the next time they are touring near me.
