    Candide was amazing!!

by Heek on 3/11/18Weigel Hall - Columbus

Candide was a thought provoking musical as it dealt with contemporary issues that made some audience members feel uncomfortable at times during the performance. What a perfect time for Candide as our nation is dealing with so many issues that individuals need to look at all sides openly trying to be empathetic to all despite how close to home it may hit. Then have open discussions as to what is best for the common good....Be Eternally optimistic!! The ensemble did an excellent job throughout the musical taking audience members all over the world as all involved looked like they were truly enjoying making the production. Kudos to The Ohio State University for allowing this political satire to take on its own meaning with today's culture.

This event was very eye opening, educational, inspiring, and haunting at the same time. It was created by real people, for real people and I was moved during the whole thing. This is an amazing project and I wish more people were aware of the work and message they are trying to spread.

    Love ELMO!!!

by Gozando on 4/29/12Weigel Hall - Columbus

Blazing rhythms, subtle and eloquent changes, incredible arrangements, consummate soloists! Our night listening to the sounds of El Movimiento was such a special treat. Such a great style from these fabulous musicians who entertained and inspired. From the ballads to the up-tempo; from "La Mordida" to "El Señor Esta Conmigo", ELMO's music moved us physically and emotionally. Oh what a night! Thank You ELMO for your wonderful gift of music. God Bless Your Talent and Devotion! :)

    Ruby Elzy Story

by LaughingInCT on 2/14/12Lincoln Theatre - COLUMBUS

The story of Ruby Elzy's life, that of a poor African American girl in the 1930s becoming educated, voice trained, and having a short but accomplished life as an opera singer was very interesting! I had personally never heard of her story, and now I am compelled to read the book about her life written by the OSU professor. The undergrads and graduate voice students did an outstanding job!
