    Confusing

by CSK on 2/26/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

The dancing was well rehearsed but I cannot say the same for the choreography. Just about everyone knows the story of Sleeping Beauty, and yet that was not enough to follow such confusing and illiterate choreography. Felt as though we were just watching people dance without a story. Shameful waste of talented dancers!

Many of the dances seemed similar

    by J. on 2/26/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

A little more money needed to be spent on staging props. Costume’s more diverse

    Eye-popping gorgeous!

by JS on 2/26/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

The costumes were elaborate, the music lovely, and the dancing first-rate. A rare treat to see this performed in Portland, it usually requires a much larger company. Our dancers, many of whom had to dance more than one role, did the Rose City proud.

    incredible

by lovearts on 2/25/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

this was an awesome performance and appropriate for all ages. I had to call one of my best friends to tell her that her young daughter would love this. Be aware that it is almost 3 hr long.

    Sad

by Birlsen on 2/25/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

The show was not as good as I thought it would be. The dancing was repetitive and the storyline seemed rushed in places it shouldn't have been (battle) and too long in others (opening with nobles). It was less imaginative than their other storybook presentations. The past 3 OBT shows that I have attended, I've been surrounded by kids and parents who insist on talking loudly throughout the entire show, narrating everything that's happening on stage and dampening my enjoyment. Tickets are not cheap and and I won't be attending future OBT shows. Could there be some shows 'just for kids' or even some 'adult only' ones or maybe age restrictions "under 10 not allowed"? Even when I politely ask fellow patrons to please be quiet, I get a glare and ignored and the noise continues, making my ability to enjoy the show in it's entirety null.

    Beautiful

by Sheeran Sisters on 2/24/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

I was afraid such a long and late performance would be rough, but even the young children around us were engaged and energized the entire night. Sitting up front to the left in the “cheap seats” worked in our favor as seeing the costumes and facial expressions up close made the show even better! Keller is always incredible. Wish you could bring snacks into theater but understand why you can’t.

    Sleeping beauty ballet

by MR on 2/24/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

I enjoyed the sleeping beauty ballet. Excellent choreography, the set & dancers were Amazing. I took my 7 & 9 year old boys & they enjoyed it too; even though it was a tiny bit long for them.

    Sleeping Beauty was incredible

by Acarajé on 2/24/20Keller Auditorium - Portland

I had never seen it, and my nephew and his gf hadn't either. It was over-the-top incredible. The magnificence was in every sphere: amazing amount of pure ballet dancing, the score and orchestra, the sets and screens. It was like taking a Time Machine to another era, and walking into their fantastical lives. The sneaky gremlin-agents of Evil Fairy Carabosse, streaking across the floor, were mind-boggling. It wasn't all serious (Red Riding Hood bashing the wolf on his head). It was just thrilling, the whole thing. OBT just continues to amaze me!
