BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Daniel Lopatin, aka Oneohtrix Point Never, began his quest for unique tones and electronic samples as a teenager while experimenting on his father’s vintage synthesizer (which he still uses extensively to this day). When he moved to New York for post-graduate studies in archival science, he soon found his voice in the city’s vibrant noise music scene. After recording under a number of aliases, he settled on Oneohtrix Point Never for his self-released 2007 album Betrayed in the Octagon. He earned rave reviews for the creative sampling on his 2011 album Replica, which made year-end lists by Pitchfork, Tiny Mixtapes, and The Boston Globe. He partnered with Warp Records for his 2013 album R Plus Seven and won over new fans the following year on tour with Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden. As more and more ticket buyers discover envelope-pushing records like 2015’s Garden of Delete, the demand to see his mind-expanding live sets continues to rise.
