    A dazzling evening!!!

by gettindizzy on 11/21/10Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

Not only because of Rosemary's fabulous jacket which was dazzling, but the music was superb!!!! Mike Herriott was extraordinary as were his collegues, Ken Lister, Bass, Craig Scott, Drums and Ron Johnston, Piano. Big Band was the theme and the Symphony Orchestra was the consumate big band under the direction of Maestra Rosemary Thomson. This Pops performance shows the versatiltiy of the orchestra players and was a truly enjoyable event.

    Okanagan Symphony - you rock!

by Kelownagirl on 11/21/10Kelowna Community Theatre - Kelowna

We attended this event with our 15 year old son and his friend of the same age that both play the trumpet and are jazz lovers. They were both very impressed. This concert was just amazing as the symphony transformed the evening into a jazz club. My husband and I were season's ticket holders some years ago and quit because we did not like the music format. But with the enthusiasm that Ms. Thompson brings to this orchestra we are coming back. Thank you.

    Wonderful!

Loved hearing the OSO play so much! When the Okanagan Symphony Orchestra, Night Owl Orchestra and Youth Orchestra played together (Rosemary said they were 99 strong) ~ it was amazing and wonderful to hear! Featuring the talent of local youth was both a treat and inspiration ~ the Candesa Vocal Ensemble was incredible; the Venables sisters played with such easy, the music just flowed from their violins into the audience; Dominique Bernath (with "Baby on Board") was joy to watch and hear!
