About

Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music band formed in Wirral, Merseyside in 1978. Founding members Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys pioneered a distinctive synth-pop sound, scoring major hits like "Enola Gay" and "Maid of Orleans." Rounded out by members Martin Cooper (keyboards, saxophone) and Stuart Kershaw (drums), OMD released several acclaimed albums in the 1980s, and have continued to record and perform over the decades.

    Amazing as in the 80ā€™s

    by chilena69 on 12/14/23

I always saw mixed reviews about seeing OND in concert. Saw them in Darker Waves festival. They were just amazing. They were my favorite there, they sang all their hits. They got the crowd involved and everybody was just loving it brought me back to the 80s listening to them living in Canada, now I am in Houston Texas. Cannot wait until they announce their US tour. !!!

Just saw them on Saturday at Darker Waves. They stoled the show. So much energy. Voices are great. This is my second time and if they are coming back to San Diego or Los Angeles count me in. Love you OMD! šŸ˜

    OMG, More OMD please !!!

    by SDBondGirl007 on 7/10/23

Saw them for my first time at the El Cajon Magnolia Theatre May of 2022. OMD was my favorite bad growing up in the 80's. I danced the whole time as did everyone around me. Paul and Andy had a blast too, you could just tell they are absolutely living their best life. It's been over a year and I am still talking about this concert experience as one of the best concerts I have ever been to.

OMD is the best live band ever

by Decophile on 5/31/22Lincoln Theatre - Washington

This was the pandemic-delayed "40th anniversary" tour. Front man Andy McCluskey is charismatic and mesmerizing. Co-founder and sometime vocalist Paul Humphreys is lovely and charming. Martin Cooper is a lovely gentleman and takes some novelty turns on the sax. Drummer Stu Kershaw is the glue keeping all together. Set list highlights: Atomic Ranch (before entre), Stanlow (beautiful), Isotype (up tempo and recent, ca. 2015, glad they kept that in), Don't Go (even more recent, both up tempo and poignant at once!), Statues and Almost (the Kraftwerk formation!), Forever Live and Die (a personal favorite), Messages (my all-time fave). Can't say enough about how amazing this show/tour was. xo

    OMD Brilliant As Ever

by ChrisR on 5/31/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Very enjoyable show. As often is the case with OMD just about every body was dancing at one point or another. My only gripe would be, they could have played for longer and not bothered with the support act (which was entertaining but not really my cup of tea).... Please come back again soon (with a longer set.....)

    No Oldies Band Here

by Scott on 5/29/22The Magnolia - El Cajon

I have seen OMD numerous times and they never fail to deliver an amazing show. Polished and high energy the band really loves what they do and it clearly comes across to the audience. They are not just an oldies band though. Their set includes all the top hits from the very beginning right into the current. It is great that they are still making fantastic new music. To top it off the venue was terrific. A bit bland looking but amazing sound, not a bad seat in the house, easy to get to, super comfortable seating, and free parking just one block away. I cannot want to see more shows at the Magnolia.
