NORTHLANE IN CONCERT:

Australian metalcore quintet Northlane always hit audiences hard with their incendiary breakdowns and cerebral musicianship in concert. Whether ticket buyers jump into the pandemonium of the mosh pit or observe the musical mastery from afar, the group’s stunning juxtaposition of grace and grit is sure to please on epic throwdowns like “Obelisk”, “Rot”, and “Impulse”. Lead singer Marcus Bridge embodies this duality in each angst-driven anthem as he combines fierce screams and angelic strains that are sure to inspire fans to sing along as well as headbang. True metalcore fanatics won’t want to miss these masters of mayhem as they bring their ferocious sound to cities across North America.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Taking their name from the song “North Lane” by Architects, Sydney’s Northlane have aligned themselves with the history and future of the metalcore movement from the very start. After self-recording their debut EP Hollow Existence in 2010, the group inked a deal with metal label UNFD and released their full-length follow-up Discoveries the next year. After touring with Parkway Drive in 2013 they released their sophomore album Singularity, which rocketed to No. 1 on the Australian iTunes Albums Chart. Unfortunately, just as their star was rising vocalist Adrian Fitipaldes resigned from the band in 2014 due to his declining health. Marcus Bridge stepped in and immediately got to work on their 2015 album Node, which featured more clean vocals and atmospherics than previous albums. Northlane continues to explore the dramatic contrasts of their sound at their live concerts, converting new fans wherever they play.

4 stars due to bad front of house mix

by DylanR on 9/9/19The Masquerade - Atlanta

The openers and Erra all had a good mix. Northlane's front of house mixed a drum and bass show... rattled my teeth and could not hear any mid range at all. 0% guitar. Terrible sound. it wasn't due to the venue.

Small venue, but the energy in the room was huge! Killer lineup, and all of the bands were phenomenal.

One of the best shows I've ever seen.

by Ashley on 9/9/19The Masquerade - Atlanta

This was easily one of the best shows I've ever had the pleasure of seeing. Crystal Lake was absolutely phenomenal. They did more as an opener than some bands do with a full set. I hope they get big enough in the US to do a headliner tour - because DAMN. Currents was also really solid, and I enjoyed their set a lot. I hope they tour through ATL again soon - I'd definitely buy another ticket with them on the bill. Erra is a personal favorite of mine. I love seeing those guys play, and they sure didn't disappoint this time. I was happy to see a long set from them, and IMO they kept the energy up throughout. We had to leave before Northlane went on - so I can't comment on them, but given the caliber of the bands they're touring with, I can't imagine that they were anything less than spectacular.

    Fantastic night

by T. W. on 9/3/19Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens Bank - Boston

Every band hit it out of the park. Crystal Lake was flawless, playing some great songs, despite a short set. Currents performed well, with lots of energy. Erra was on fire. Not only were there tracks from 2018's Neon, but they dug all the way back to old EPs. If JT hadn't told the crowd that he was sick and having vocal issues, I would've never noticed. Northlane played an Alien-focused set, with only a couple older tracks. They also had an enjoyable 2-song encore. Lots of energy from each band and the crowd.
