About

As a founding member of one of the biggest and best British bands ever, Noel Gallagher has been hugely influential in shaping the course of British rock'n'roll. Oasis had a total of eight No. 1 singles in the UK as well as eight No. 1 albums. Gallagher also had a No. 1 single with “Setting Sun” in collaboration with The Chemical Brothers in 1996.

Since Oasis split up for good in 2009, he has taken more of a back-seat role in the UK music scene but has continued to be successful with his new band, Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds.

Oasis were very heavily influenced by several 1960s bands, such as The Beatles and The Who, and Noel managed to intelligently combine these influences to create a brand new sound that would come to dominate Brit Pop in the 1990s. Their first album, Definitely Maybe, which was released in 1994, became Britain's fastest-selling debut album ever and went to No. 1 in the UK and Irish album charts. Oasis were now on a roll and their second album, What's the Story Morning Glory, was released just over a year later. Morning Glory was a huge global success, spawning the singles “Don't Look Back in Anger,” “Wonderwall,” “Some Might Say” and “Champagne Supernova,” all of which were written solely by Noel.

Between 1997 and 2010, Oasis went on to have six more acclaimed albums with Be Here Now, Standing on the Shoulders of Giants, Heathen Chemistry, Don't Believe the Truth, Dig Out Your Soul and the compilation, Time Flies: 1994-2009. Over the years, Noel and his brother Liam were notorious for their feuding, and in 2009 they disbanded Oasis permanently. Liam formed Beady Eye with the rest of Oasis and Noel formed a brand new band, his High Flying Birds. Their eponymous debut album appeared in 2011.

Noel also regularly appears on stage with Kasabian, a band that he influenced hugely during the 1990s. Although it is generally accepted that Noel and Liam could never work together again, the brothers have a huge and loyal following, and rumors continue to circulate concerning a possible reunion. Should they ever decide to put the original Oasis line-up back on stage together, it would certainly be one of the most anticipated gigs ever.

    Excellent show

by KittyGalore on 6/12/15Boston Opera House - Boston

Noel Gallagher is a first-rate songwriter - responsible for all of the classic OASIS material. On his tour for his second solo album (released under the "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds" moniker), he drew from both solo releases as well as some Oasis classics and B-Sides. His band was tight and the audience was on its feet throughout the entire show.

Excellent show with excellent sound and videos. Great rapport with audience. "Champagne Supernova" was one of the best singalongs I've ever experience.

    Pompous stud can perform

by FozzyBear89 on 6/9/15Boston Opera House - Boston

Loved the way he pointed out that all the songs he played were written by him (including Oasis songs) and thought it was cool that he was so loyal to the Brits. Was impressed with a new guitar each song and the level of technical and professional focus throughout the concert. He sounds great, maybe even better than his brother - less nasal. I went as a moderate fan and left as a huge fan.

Honestly the best concert I've been to. Great venue and great music. I would love for Oasis to get back together, but Noel is absolutely killing it on his own.

    Brilliant!

by CajunPenguin on 6/9/15Boston Opera House - Boston

Noel was great. The band sounded tight, the singing was spot on, and the set list was perfect. Beyond the music he was entertaining as hell when he engaged the audience. As funny as you've seen him for the last 20 odd years. To boot the actual venue was pretty nice.

    How Every Concert Should Be

by Llasd87 on 6/9/15Boston Opera House - Boston

This was truly an unforgettable event. Many bands, musicians, and "artists" in today's music world simply lack the class and performing power that Noel Gallagher possesses. I waited by the stage door before the show and he came out and signed autographs with not only me, but other fans as well. Mr. Gallagher is such a nice person and it's not only touching but impressive that he actually takes the time out of his schedule to meet and greet his fans-all without selling a premium backstage pass like many other artists do. The venue was gorgeous, the Boston Opera House is a work of art in itself, and the acoustics were amazing. Noel came on stage and played his set, while often taking breaks to speak to the audience. It felt like he was there to play to the audience and have a good time, not so he could get paid or because he had to. The staff were also very polite, one techie was nice enough to give me the set list for the night. Even if you don't know his music, if you ever have the chance to see Noel Gallagher, take it.

    Noel Gallagher

by Fan213 on 6/9/15Boston Opera House - Boston

He is brilliant. All his songs are good. The only issue he likely faces is which songs he should do because he's been a brilliant songwriter for 20+ years and has written many classics.

Excellent concert. Good location, theater was not very big so able to see from any seat

Solid show, heavy on the new material

by Chuckster13 on 6/9/15Boston Opera House - Boston

Great show, great sound quality, and a good mix of new solo tunes and Oasis classics. This was the first rock show for my 10-year-old son, and he loved it. Noel had some good banter with the crowd between songs and seemed to be enjoying the show himself. Played for nearly two hours and played nearly the entire new album. His backing band and horn section was really solid and tight, although the lead guitar could have used a bit of a volume boost. Seats were towards the back, but it's such a cool, small theater that there isn't a bad seat in the house. Staff was very friendly and helpful... just a great time overall.
