    Newark Bears

by HamRadio49 on 8/6/12Newark Bears Stadium - Newark

I can't understand why Baseball fans in the Northern Jersey Area don't go to the Bears. This stadium is a Diamond in the rough! So easy to get to from anywhere. A great Ballpark and very cost effective for bringing the kids out for a day at the game. For the price of a Yankee Stadium trip you could have a Bears Season Ticket Pass! CW

    wing contest

by casatony on 9/7/09Riverfront Stadium - Newark

no sauge and pepper sandwichs, tap beer was out by the 3rd inning, which was disappointing, how does a baseball stadium run out the basics for a game

Bears Baseball a fun nght out at a great rate

by Jonrno on 8/30/09Riverfront Stadium - Newark

I must say living in NYC and being a Mets fan can be difficult. I do so love baseball so I took a venture across the water to Newark to see some great independent league baseball. The Bears game was all out fun! Their division rival Ducks was like a Mets vs Yankees match up. We are fortunate in NYC area to have 10 professional baseball teams (The Major League New York Mets and New York Yankees. The Single A New York Penn League Brooklyn Cyclones, Staten Island Yankees, and Hudson Valley Renegades. The Atlantic League of Professional Baseball Long Island Ducks, Newark Bears, and Somerset County Patriots. & The Canadian American League of Independent Baseball New Jersey Jackals and Sussex County Sky Hawks). The Bears is a great night out. I was right behind home plate, had a good time. The food and drink was so reasonable. For 10 bucks how can you go wrong. Its cheaper than a movie, and very entertaining. I strongly recommend it to any one! You will find your self saying I'm In!

Cool day out with the family

by LuBri on 8/3/09Riverfront Stadium - Newark

We went to a game 8/1/09. The stadium location was nice & location was easy to drive to. The place was clean, everyone was friendly and it was comfortably safe area. The ONLY thing I was disappointed about was the Pregame! They advertised that a Kids concert was scheduled, appearance by "Care Bears on Fire" I told my kids anbout it and they were excited all week....but there was no concert. No posted or even a mention why. They advertised it on the Newark Bears site, saying pregame concert starts at 6pm followed by a cheerleaders, but the cheerleaders did one or two chears at 6:45, that lasted 10 minutes, then then show started at 7:15. I was really disappointed as we got there at 5:45 for this imaginary concert. Besides that, the game was good, the activites during the game were cool - they had a 'wing eating contest' during the 5th. The stadium attendence was less than 50% full - I was surprised more people didnt attend since the tix are cheap and the place is nice for families or groups looking to have a fun local time.

    Newark Bears baseball rocks

by kgsulli on 7/16/09Riverfront Stadium - Newark

What a great experience! The stadium was quick and easy to get to. The place is "kid friendly". So much going on constantly to keep the attention of children. Loved the mascots!!! Next time, I'd chose seat down the 1st or 3rd base line, so we can take part in the activities and contests. It was great. The tickets were so reasonable, that I would go again!!!

Best bargain in the Metropolitan Area

by SandsADR on 7/14/09Riverfront Stadium - Newark

Terrific game, wonderful venue, and great fun for us all. I can't understand why there were so many empty seats. We paid $10 for the best seats in the house right behind home plate. It's the best entertainment bargain in the NY-NJ Area. We'll be back.

    Disappointed

by JerzeyGyrl on 7/14/09Riverfront Stadium - Newark

I took members of my family because one person collects autographs from Yankee players - true die hard fan. The listing stated the wrong times for the signing and I felt the stadium should have honored the type o....there was alot of disappointed Yankee fans that didn't even bother to stay to watch the game.

    What Fun!

by ewnd on 7/13/09Riverfront Stadium - Newark

I haven't been to a baseball game since I was a child and this event lived up to all my expectations. The stadium is clean, easily accessible and very user friendly and the fans were friendly too. Mascots and contests between innings kept the little kids happy and a cadre of young staff members kept the older kids from becoming too boisterous. All in all, it was a very reasonably priced, very enjoyable day! Oh yeah, and it was great to watch a professional baseball game up close!
