A fabulous show hosted by New York City blues staple Michael Packer with an eclectic line up featuring Vincent Pastore ("Big Pussy" on "The Sopranos,") popular club veteran Jon Paris, and others, plus an eagerly anticipated special guest appearance by Santa Claus. This was real deal blues, nothing flashy or fancy, just funky and fun, with a little extra holiday cheer thrown in.
It was like seeing 10 different concerts and was fairly long, not that it was a problem. Inductions were sometimes a bit tedious but certainly were meaningful. Being a fan of The Band and the quantity of their songs that were played, the show was a 10+. The music, performers and ambiance were outstanding. The inductees, presenters and musicians ambled around the venue and were very approachable as they sat at the bar and tables around the stage to watch and listen to their peers.
